Selling Over Seas?
The guy actually called me. It wasn't an e-mail. Beleave me I usually know when it is a scam. I play along long enough to actually recieve the check. I've go 3 fake ones from a previous car I sold. No extra money involved. I'm assuming that once I sign the title over and he picks the truck up then I am no longer involved. It sounds like he will probably be doing a wire transfer to pay for the truck.
It depends on where the truck should go- if it's to Europe the buyer may have some troubles in getting it registered here. (Emissions related)
As long as it's assured that you have your $$$ and he's got the truck and you have some proof of sale that specifically states that you are in no way responsible for any fees, customs, taxes etc and not responsible for the fitness of the vehicle for a certain purpose (see above) it should not pose any problem to sell to a foreigner.
About the wire transfer- check whether it's possible to get burned on the wire transfer- like somebody revoking the transaction in some way so you have to pay back the $$$
I am from Austria and lots of times when I intend to buy a vehicle or goods in the US I get responses that make me think I'm regarded as a scammer.

Check with your states tax commision/dept of vehicle etc, regarding the sale, In Oklahoma there is a seperate state form that is available for the seller to have signed by both the seller and buyere and mailed in to the state to rid yourself of the liability of the vehicle after the sale even when a state title is signed over to the seller, it eliminates your risk of the vehicle if it is used in a crime, accident or whatever as some accidents occur after the sale and before the buyer reregisters it. I also suggest to get your cash in hand before signing the title or letting go of the vehicle. Goodluck,,Rick
