guys that are union ops in ca are you guys slow or busy? I have an opportunity to jump on a crew as a union carpenter, but really want to join the OE. The OE's are accepting applications in about a week, then testing, etc. I just don't want to pass on the job I can have and end up not getting in as an OE. Does anyone know how much better the OE benefits are to the carpenters? Thanks
I live in CA, my experience is a carpenter so I'd start at a higher pay, but here I believe the OE get 3-4 dollars more an hour at journey rate and believe the bennies to be better. Hopefully people jump in on this. thanks
Hey BLACKDODGE, I know we already talked before and I see you want out of CA, but the NAVY is hiring civilian carpenters up here and elsewhere: check out this sight:

Your browser settings may flag it as a bad site but it is because of the security involved. Get to and do a search, don't fill out any pay info just pick city and state do a search, it will list all openings for the particular base. If you need help PM me! I know nothing about unions, sorry. Navy pay goes up pretty high plus it is full govt employment/benefits.
D-C out!
