To Nice To Go To Work Today

In the Northeast, sunny and 56 degrees on December 31st only happens once a century, so I called out sick and went to the target range.

I took my .45 Longslide and my Remington 870. I put a nice bruise on my shoulder from shooting 3" OO Buck. The .45 is as sweet as ever and I was making soda bottles dance from 50 feet away. I've got to get out there more.

The only bummer to the day was I broke the exit tollgate leaving the range. I was trying to reach down to slip the key card in, my wet boot slipped off the clutch pedal, and the truck lurched forward 6". Just enough to snap the cheap wood that the gate was made from. D'oh! As a sign of maturity I backed the truck up, got out, moved the broken piece aside so nobody else would run it over, and then drove back in to the range and turned myself in to the range master. Hopefully my honesty will help keep the replacement cost down.

Well, you got me envious.
Not the guns as much as the vehicles in your signature.

I need to go out shooting sometime...

Hey, that's what I was doing this morning! No, not driving through toll gates. Went out and slew some paper plates. Didn't have to call in sick though, we closed because all our customers were closing.

You gotta get out of the PRNJ, they don't like our kind over there.

Pete, did you see the Appliance shoot thread? I know it's a long way, but I'm going. If you want to come we can convoy.

280 miles is a long way to go to kill appliances. I'll have to think about it.

Is it ever "JUST RIGHT" to go to work??
I've heard "It's to nice to go to work" and "It's to cold to go to work and "It's to hot to go to work".

I'm thinking somewhere between 55.2 & 55.4 deg.. Anything else just wont do.

It really is a toy. I bought it when I was into firearms. I can't hunt with it and it kicks like a mule, so it spends most of it's life in the safe. My .45 on the other hand, I shoot all the time and it was probably the best money I ever spent on a firearm.
