New shoes on the truck....REVO's

Man these suckers are QUIET! For as agressive as the tread pattern looks, I can't believe the tiny amount of tread noise they make. If they wear as well as they are supposed to, and provide the traction in snow and rain I'm looking for, I'm going to be in love.

These are the tires, I bought mine at the local tractor supply place.

Stayed stock. I'm planning on a 5th wheel, and don't really need the truck to be any higher than it already is.

Revo's are an awesome tire. They wear good, have good road manners, and go quite well in all conditions. The company I used to work for had them on about 20 trucks.

Paul, it was about $204 a corner for the tires, new steel stems, and balancing after taxes.

Scramblin-Yep, I'm a conductor in Iowa on the UP. Old CNW turf.

Well, after having them for a little bit here's the first impressions:

Excellent in dry.
Very good, far better than the stock BFGs in snow.
Very good, night and day on ice vs. stock BFGs.
Excellent in wet.

These should have come on the truck to begin with. I didn't realize how bad the stockers were, just wrote off the poor performance in inclement weather to excessive front end weight vs. my other pickups I've owned. It was like a hog on ice if there was anything at all between the tire and the pavement, much better now.

Put a set on my truck at 54K, now have 116K on it and still some life left. Traction is not as good now (DUH!!) and the tires do get noisier as they wear. Overall probably one of the better tires I have owned. 2 years ago I got mine for $140 a corner w/ lifetime balance, this was with price matching and firestone offering buy three get one free. Difference was firestone was charging about $30 a corner to mount up, discount tire did not. Hoping to run into a deal like that again.
