need some help with raptor atv please.

i have a 2001 raptor atv that we got used and it has been a pita ever since. we were at the dunes labor day and all was awesome til we stopped on top of the dune to take a break and noticed oil dripping from the raptor. i looked it over and found that the oil line that runs from the bottom right front of the motor up to the top right of the cylinder head cover to be the culprit and got the tools out and figured i would cinch it down a tad and we would be fine. not the case, i barely turned the bolt and blamo! it stripped the threads in the head cover.
so, my question is this;
what would be the best fix for that and a new cover is hopefully out of the question cuz yamaha wants $600 bones for a new one as a set. (cylinder head assy).
thanks for the read and any advice given in advance.

might drill and tap larger then use a reducer or
any good TIG welder should be able to weld that up then you can drill and tap new threads the right size for the line

Take it to a local machine shop and have them repair the threads. no sense in sending yamaha 600 bucks.

If you use Ebay, watch it closely for raptor parts. I bought several parts a little while back. I bought a raptor Repo that was a basket case. Thanks to ebay it lived.

If you go to Oreillys, they sell some stuff to repair threads. It is over by the permatex stuff.
