A must read book, it will alter your thoughts.

I am not going to comment on the differences of opinion, we all know how the other member stands. I would like to offer a suggestion for an education on the issues. I picked up a book at a truck stop, no less. It has been a real education for me. The book is Saddam, King of Terror by Con Coughlin. He is the executive editor for the London Daily Telegraph.

The book starts with Saddam's birth in Tikret and follows his life up to our latest invasion. Anyone reading this book will be shocked at the facts, and with full knowledge that it had to end somehow. It also brings an understanding of why some political decisions were made by this country. I spent the better part of a few days reading it. I won't go into facts that are presented, but all I can say is, absolutely shocking. At the same level of authority Hitler was never as ruthless.

A quote from a speech from Qusay Hussein after 911 " We can make America's people sleepless and frightened to go out in the streets.... if I do not turn their night into day and their day into a living hell, I will ask you to chop off my head before my brothers present" "If bin Laden truly did carry out the September attacks as they claim then, as God is my witness, we will prove to them what happened in September is a picnic compared to the wrath of Saddam Hussein"

Sounds like a good read, but I'll wait until the "Final" chapter is written.
(The one where they talk about him, and OBL being buried in a common grave)

The one argument that I have trouble with is the "Monday morning quarterbacks" who jumped on the "We were wrong because there were no Weapons of Mass Destruction" found.
How many lives need to be snuffed out because of the orders by one man to be considered a Weapon Of Mass Destruction? May he never see the light of freedom again! I can't really think of the best punishment for him and his kind, but I'll bet that those who have suffered from his actions would come up with something.

Dennis the one thing the book does is to put thing is perspective and sequence. He was using tacticle chemical weapons, in the field, against Iran. He had several plants producing them and also the neuclear research. Those weapons are somewhere... Buried, moved to another country, possibly, but somewhere. One day we will know, probably when someone uses them on us.
