You might be supriced by some of the stuff we listen to, buy a Cross Canadian Ragweed or Shooter Jennings CD, not like anything out of Nashville...

Shooter Jennings is pretty good. His rendition of I've always been crazy was awesome. He's not his daddy but who could ever be anyway?

On XM radio

channel 12 is called cross country, they play alot of the Tx country and so forth, its a good station. i still listen to mainstream though, even tho some of it is kinda lame. There are a couple of good ones here and there. Give me early 80's thru 96 country and im happy as can be.

I do however like alot of merle, waylon, wille, and not to mention charlie daniels, dan seals, johnny lee, and more..

Tx

Aggieland definitely introduced me to Texas Country. I spend a lot of time in Nashville for work and its pretty interesting watching the Nashville Seen--definitely a bunch of people playing pop but since they are wearing boots, they call it Country; they add a cowboy hat for style.

I live in far NW Houston, on a clear night I can pick up the new 92.5-Lonestar Country; a great station. On Sunday nights, KILT plays Texas country. I put a steak on the grill, drink beer, and listen to the radio. I just wish they would have moved the show up earlier rather than starting it at 7.

Roger Creager is one of my favorites; I always have a great time at his concerts. But as Hoss said, it is a lot beer drinking/bar scene songs. REK’s Feelin Good Again is probably one of my favorite songs!

I listen to Amercian channel on XM. I think it's channel 10? It plays all of the old good stuff like Hank Jr., Charlie Pride, George Jones, etc.
