Anyone ran Wild Country TXR?

Hello again,<br><br>sorry to be spamming you with tire questions, I need to make my decision quick, and $700 is a lot of money for me being in college and all. My question: has anyone ran Wild Country TXRs or Mud Terrain STX tires on thier cummins? What kind of miles did you get out of the tires, how did they perform in all kinds of weather? Thank you for your replies<br><br>thanks again<br><br>mike

I don't have them but after reading about the low milage 30000 or so I did not buy them. Terra Grappler AT were the same cost.<br><br>KC

Nope but just looked at them this morning on the net. The 285/75/16 show a 3308lbs rating @ 65lbs pressure. They look good. I've been doing the same search. Trying to find a tire that will stay around longer than 14k. Good luck I'll be watching for other replies.

Well I am getting them put on Wednesday, or should be at least, so I just need to descide which ones. I think I will get the mud terrain SXT. They are on sale for around $140 a tire for 255/85/16s.<br><br>http://www.lesschwab.com/w3lsnet/bus...TerrainSXT.asp<br><br>Here are the specs<br>LT255/85R16 33.21&quot;tall 10&quot; wide 3000@65 <br><br>I just gotto make the decision between these or the TXRs <br><br>http://www.lesschwab.com/w3lsnet/bus...CountryTXR.asp<br><br>here are the specs<br> 33.65&quot;tall 10&quot;wide 3000@65

Re:Anyone ran Wild Country TXR?

I just purchased a set last week. (TXR) I went with the 285/75-16. Just a little taller and wider. Got em out the door $761.00. I considered going with the 255/85-16. They are taller then the 285 but narrower then the stock 265. It was a tough choice. I did look at BFG AT K/O. They were around the same price. The deciding factor with the TXR is that over in this area the dealer has locations all over the place and the service after the sale is good too. To sum it up, so far I like them. If we ever get any snow I may even like them better.

Re:Anyone ran Wild Country TXR?

i had Wild Country TXR's on my truck load range D 285/75/16......HATED THEM! &gt; they wobbled around corners, and wore really bad, and were also VERY loud. they were great for off road use and driving in snow though. after what i went through, i do not recommend them.<br><br>i now have Toyo Open Countries 265/75/16 in load range E (for the same price due to knowing someone) and couldn't be happier.<br><br>Tom

Re:Anyone ran Wild Country TXR?

I hate to be the bad guy but when I bought my truck it had 2 wild country RVT AT's and 2 dragster slick mud kings. Well after a mis-hap of buying 2001 wheels &amp; tires :'( I replaced the 2 mud kings with 2 matching wild country's. I THINK I got 30,000 out of them I'm not even sure of that. : But I will never run those tires again. The 2 brand new ones I put on were just as wore out as the ones that had been on there a couple of months when I bought the truck and all 4 had only like probably 10% tread left when I got new tires a couple of months ago.

My cousin runs the Wild County MT's on his 92 Phurd F-250 Reg cab Long bed 7.2(?) Non-turbo and he wears 'em out pretty quick. If you are dead set and must have Wild Country's then go ahead, but I personally will never put another set of Wild Country tires on my CTD. [undecided]

In my personal opinion I would get BFG AT/KO's they have the longest lasting tread life on a CTD that I've heard so far. That's what most of the guys over on TDR are running. I would be running BFG AT/KO's right now, but when I went to order tires a couple of months ago BFG was on national back order and my tire guy had to call 5 different places before he could find a D rated AT that I could live with. (I know BFG AT/KO's are only D rated in 33x16.5's)

Re:Anyone ran Wild Country TXR?

I had TXR's on one of my trucks. The ride was fine, but they wore horribly.

Re:Anyone ran Wild Country TXR?

Well I got the tires installed today. They are 255/85/R16 Wild Country TXRs. I got them siped also. They look great on the truck, and are the perfect size I wanted. Tall (33.5&quot and narrow (10&quot wide. I guess we will wait and see how long they last. I will just get them rotated every oil change (5000 miles)

Re:Anyone ran Wild Country TXR?

I will post pictures on Wednesday. IMO they are the perfect size. They are tall but still fit nicely in the wheel wells. The size is not real common.
