Good Evening! Had good last couple days. We had another safety lunch wednesday (bbq ribs and chicken and all the sides), today we had a retirement party for one of our locomotive hostlers (They fuel, sand, and clean locos). He had close to 40 yrs in at the company, it was a pretty emotional thing for him, he was well liked by all of us and he was also the life of the company. He was always joking around with someone of having some kind of fun, it'll be different w/o him at work. One of our crew wreck a loco today, a good round of appluse for the transportion dept. The drove it right into the side of some coal hoppers and tore the cars and the loco up good. Looks like they'll run alot of OT this weekend to get it out the door. I have a pic of the wreck, I just need to scan it into the computer. The GF's sister got engaged today, her boyfriend came home on leave from iraq. They'd been talking about it and we all thought it was when he would get home in Dec from his tour. He sure did surprise her, my gf said he did it right outside the terminal at chicago o'hare airport in front of a bunch of people. Gotta be up early, friday is finally upon us. Box O' Beer time tomorrow night, I'll be buying.

Mornin mornin

Man I'm glad it's Friday... three days to RnR will be just right. Mondays a holiday up here.

Chirs Nice looking home. That shop wont be hard to fill up, I filled a 40X80 in no time at all. Should have built bigger and I knew it. What kind of trees are those around the house?

Heidi the two sailors weren't trying to hold each other up they were trying to save water..... and soap. Hahaha J/K

Have to run, don't want to be late on the last day of work.
I'll just grab a cup for the road and head out.
Drive safe and have fun... Later.

Sheesh - - who pull his hair?? Boy baby, mommy doesn't love him any more. Hey, you're all right Scott - - we all luv ya man.

Lived thru the humiliation yesterday - - doc says "hey, I work on facts - - give me some facts - - you are too healthy." Yeh, well that's why I am here - - DUH. To make sure. Soooo, good word, man. Now I can sleep better knowing that - - but, why do I feel like crud? No answer. Wonder how much that "no answer" cost?

OK, grabbing some ph00 and saying hi to everyone - - gorgeous day here - - even cooler down here than in Denver. How about that one. Been a pretty nice summer so far. Mostly hanging around 89 - - not bad for Florida. Of course that is the west side on the water. Off to the races - - see ya,

SuntannedBob

Cool All to see YOU, Marc! hehe watch out for those Homeland security folks...

agree with DaddyFiver- gorgeous day! no rain today, yippee. Son working so Mom moved the little stuff into the apartment, set up the utilities (we will call you 20 minutes ahead of time. I LIVE 65 miles away?! Hello? gas company? I am supposed to call in the meter number for service. Honey your service is already on (yeah, wrong meter)), met the neighbors and left a good fireman's meeting (with grilled sausage, mmmm) to bug the janitor in the middle of his busy work. so no food for me and made the CHAIKWA grumpy...me thinks the above complaint was for me- ahem....

Hope all of you hard working fellas get some break and relax this weekend with good music, food, companionship and your choice of beverages.

make sure you post in the poll , if anyone has served in the Armed forces....

Hopefully, Ofc Mark will not take the President's offer to guard him, and keep his feet dry......on the count, Marc!

Happy Heidi on the loose

Not the question I want to ask, or experience-to tell. Saw one episode of that tv series thingy CARRIER, boy no one sounded happy.
This was the one with the racist drunk guy who wanted out of the navy and got it. Not the sailors I knew, hardest working bunch and chop busters ever!
ahhhhh, how to put this politely; girls on a ship? some were girls? oh. guess I am just old. don't know how you did/do it Pistol ol boy....Shortround too. Bless all who serve today, lot of thoughts your way!

MOM trying to get the two hairy men pic out of my head...

Afternoon snackie time,

NW Houston, pleasant and partly cloudy, with a light breeze.

Took the truck in for service, LOF, with cupon, $39.95. But have some dead pedal problem with P0216 code. Extened warrenty should cover it. Took it to a dealer that I have used before, and trust. Took the bus, with my FREE live time pass, to the park and ride near the house so wife picked me up.

JWBM, Pistol, his son, Shirley the Purdent Student, had a great time over coffee last week. Gonna get together again soon.

Being airforce, I will skip the sailor shower hour visuals.

Still can't see the bottom of the job jar.

ofcmarc you going to meet with GW on his visit? Flooding over yet?
5erBob, that sounds like good news from the Dr. Living where you are and wanna feel good too? Have fun in the sun.
HAT, enjoy you vacation cruise.
Blue3/4, interesting week. Get the loco wreck pix posted. Must be a good story that goes with it.

Bout time to head for the kitchen laboratory and experment on dinner.

My computer is still down.

Have a good un and be safe out there.

dssimecek, I'll get the picture up tonight. It doesn't show too much carnage but its still a good wreck.

Had bad day today, hot and muggy plus on top of that I had to work on a loco that caught fire overnight. A roots blower let loose and the engine started pumping oil into the intake. That caust the stack on fire when the hot oil was being sent throw the exhaust. So it had a stack fire and then sucked the flames back into the intake into both roots blowers. It was a mess. Got home and now I'm relaxing and enjoying a couple beverages. The gf is suppose to come by later, we're gonna go see The Dark Knight at the movies.

I have a suspicion that GW won't leave Eilson AFB and come into town so no visit from me. EAFB is very strict about access even on a normal day.

Flood watch has been extended untill Sat. Afternoon when they expect the crest to happen. There are lots of places arround here that have water in basements measured in feet. Riverfront property owners can fish from their back porches here in town now.....

Also the Tanana Valley State Fair opens today which is the official start to the rainy season in these parts.

Maybe with some seriously oversized tires I can get the truck to float the haul barges up and down the rivers.
