Mornin' all ....

Somewhat handicapped today as I broke the handle off of my Navy coffee cup yesterday. That'll be the last time I try to wash the sludge out .

Woo hoo ... I got my new business cards at work. Guess that means they are gonna keep me around, huh ?

OFCMARC ... I couldn't imagine getting flooded that far north ... in the cold. I'm thinking that would constitute my worst nightmare. Hope y'all fair well through the storms.

Well ... gotta git to it.

It ain't anywhere near cold yet. Today should get up near 60*. We already have localized flooding outside of town but fairbanks itself hasn't "flooded" since the flood of '67. There are still places around here that have signs showing the high water mark from when the Chena river overflowed that year. Since then the corps of engineers built a flood control project to keep the town from flooding by diverting the chena directly to the tanana before it hits town. Works good if they check the gates everyso often to make sure they aren't jammed with debris.

As it is, the Tanana is already 6'' over flood stage and the salcha is 1.5' over and rain is forcasted for the next 3-4 days.

Anyone have a "how to" on installing a bilge pump on a 1st Gen?

Put my in a floating cup just in case........

Mornin gang,

Bunches of you characters still staying up all night - - working is one thing, but the others - - GO TO BED.

Marc - - tie some big inner tubes all around that Gen 1 - - put some big studded tires on it and they can act like paddles - - go for it. Only I don't recommend getting in the Chena with it - - pretty good current on that baby.

Nice rains yesterday and more due today - - just can't keep up with the plants - - wow. I think the bouganvillea grew a foot yesterday.

Grabbing a cup and outa here - - have a terrific day.

Mornin all

Went to a 2hr workout last night again. Trying to stay in shape is sure hard on a person.

ofcmarc hope you make out ok with the flooding. Some kind of boat might be a little better than just hip waders.

Heidi I'll pm you later.

Hat I wouldn't worry about the cook, you don't look like you been missing to many meals in the last little while. Hahaha

Off to work so drive safe and have fun. Have a good one...Later.

Why is walking the dog around the block so much more fun when your wife is with you?

Tonight's my friday then I get my 7 off WOOHOO! except for OT saturday night.

After I got off this AM, I fertilized the yard thinking that it would keep raining so i wouldn't have to water much. So much for thinking Woke up this PM to blue skies Figures....

Keep the sludge burning in the pot (or at least close to it). I'll be back later

Evening. Haven't been on much recently. Still haven't gone and got a laptop. Waiting for my credit card to come back in since I reported the old one lost or stolen. Should be here tomorrow, then I'll go to the store to get one.

Got our insurance check for our door being fixed today. 475 bucks. Good so far. Should have the check for the actual monetary items lost by the end of this week.

Work is good. Kinda scary times. We had a horrible month, unless somethin miraculous happens tomorrow. I'm hoping they don't start letting ppl go. There are 5 guys in my department, including my manager. I am the only one that is hourly - meaning I do the most work. I think my job would be one that wouldn't go, but it may be. Maybe it will be one of the salary guys if it comes down to it. No sense in worrying about something that might not happen.

Other than that, just kickin it. Parents are leaving to Montana on Friday. I might fly up to Wyoming on saturday, not sure yet.

Madhat, sounds like the float is goin well. Be safe.

Heidi, thanks for the words. We still have the actual photos from our cruise, so that is nice. Gotta do some serious file backin up and hiding now.
