Madhat's broken truck breakroom 27 Jul-02 Aug-ejewreck306.jpg

Heres the picture of the wreck. The story behind it is that one of our switching crews was running along the norfolk southern mainline when they hit a misaligned switch and "t-boned" a unit coal train. Supposedly the crew wan't even in the controling loco (306), they were in the trailing one(323). I guess the 306 was tore up badly, I saw a couple other pics of it today that couldn't leave the office and they didn't look good. That coal car had to be cut off of the loco that ran into it. The big piece of aluminium bar you see in the pic actually went through the battery boxes on the back of the loco. Sorry for the low quality pic but that the best my scanner would do.

I guess I lucked out. Never had any of the female persuasion working under my charge except in a duty status ... unless you count the one female JO that I had. At 4'3", she was just as tall as she was wide ... real nice gal and sharp as a tack. Only had to yell at her once (which is pretty good for an ensign). I know women can pull just as much as guys can, that's not the problem ... it's just that at times they can be, shall we say ... an "undesired distraction". Probably best I leave it at that .

Evening all.

Got a new computer. Happy. Macbook. Black. Me likey.

New video camera. Slowly getting the stuff back. Alarm is installed. Nice feeling. Had some hotdogs for supper.

Went to Bevmo to pick up some beer. They had free beer tasting, I couldn't turn that down. I had some beers I wouldn't normally drink. Bunch of Stone Brewery beers. Not bad. I couldn't drink it in large amounts though.

Hanging out. Watchin baseball. House to myself. Nice.

havent seen too many places doing a free tasting on alcohol in the US

Changi duty free in singapore does samples every day. Nothing like coming out of brunei (a dry muslim country in SE Asia) and someone handing you a Johnnie Walker and Lemonade.

Definitely FO. I was surprised. I was just walking around looking at random beers with a case in my hand, while one of the employees walks by and was all...,"Beer Drinker"..."Yup"..."we're doing a tasting this way".....and then I walk.

I need to go to Singapore.

Man, that was gnarly. Actually ended up in the emergency room last night. Now I have these little happy pills...HYDRCODONE...Back still hurts, but who cares...just started watching Robin Williams in "RV"...stupid movie, but who cares...You get my point, but who cares.

Anybody ever watch this movie? It's cracking me up. Is it the movie or the narcotics?

I've seen it. It's so-so. Funny in some parts. Not so funny in others. I find it rather hilarious because I have grown up traveling in an RV with my family during the summers. So I can relate to a bunch of it
