Lifelock or other companies

Has anyone used Lifelock or any of the other companies that offer the identty protection? Did they actually save your butt ever? Was it worth the money? And would you reccomend them?

With idenity thief at an alltime high I am getting a little nervouse about my identity being stolen.

I've used lifelock for a couple of years and have been happy with them, every time I've applied for credit they gave me notice which is how you find out if someone else is applying for credit under your name

their scam alerts are worthwhile (they tell you what the newest scams are)

they also let me know everytime someone pulls my bureau,

for $100 a year I'm happy

Do they call your phone to verify it is you when someone runs your credit? Also how long does it normally take them to verify it is you?

Another thing I forgot to ask... is it 100 per person or do they do like a joint thing for married couples?

Everything Lifelock does you can do yourself, do a little research on the Internet and you will learn how to protect yourself the way they do.

Yea I have already read all of that. The thing is, am I going to remember every 90 days to put the protection thing on my credit? And all the other stuff??? If I can have it done automatically, and have a little backing in the event hat someone is sucessful in stealing my id that they help to fix it, rather then me trying to fight it on my own.

I know there are some places that say there is alot of copouts that they can hide behind and not pay, but I can only speculate because I don't know of anyone that has had thier id stolen with lifelock to see how legit that is or not.
