Lesson learned...

Was reading a post about packing wheel bearings and brought to mind a lesson I learned about doing just that. I am now the 'queen of packing bearings by hand'. Just ask the hubby. He'll say 'she packs them almost as good as my SNAP-ON/Bluepoint bench mounted bearing packer that I had for over 20 years... Until she threw it out!'. It was totally accidental but man have I learned to hand pack bearings. Did locate the same packer later on and managed to buy it for him but I don't think I will ever live that one down.

LOL, I was taught by my dad, old A&E mechanic......... He refused to trust any mechanical packer, said you didn't know for sure it was full. You can watch the grease fill and come out if you pack it by hand............

I don't know if I am quite that **** retentive, but I still pack them by hand, just because dad said to..........

I am totally amazed that you threw away the man's Snap On tools and he didn't throw you in the trash.
