Heck, we'll write you in this year.

If everyone on DTR did, you'd get at least 13,000 votes.

Oops, forgot about the Canadians, British, Austrian, German, and Italian members and those displaced Canadians residing in Mexico.

Ok, maybe 10,000 votes.

It just angers me to no end that everyone say's kerry or bush - and as stated before I prefer bush over kerry but neither is the answer this country needs to pull us out of the oppressive death spiral we are in, the more I learn about the government as it is and then the way it should be, the less and less inclined I am to think "we the people" can save ourselves, as we gladly throw away personal liberties in the name of temporary security and on and on and on. A little bit of "can't see the forest for the trees" is going on here I just can't tell if I am looking at the trees or the forest. All I know for sure is that I am not happy with it the way it is and every time I try to discuss it with people all I hear is Kerry or Bush . . . grrrhhh.

OK now that that rant is over.... I need a nap.

what are your percentages on the other two parties, if you can not agree with libertarians due to 25% that is?
I have voted a straight Libertarian ticket many times in the past. I wouldn't this year, though, because I think their national security approach is inappropriate under the current circumstances, and successful prosecution of both the tactical and strategic fronts of the war on the jihadis is the most important issue facing the U.S.

WHO KNOWS WHERE HE STANDS RIGHT NOW, BUT CAN WE AFFORD BUSH IN FOR ANOTHER 4 YEARS? WE ARE IN ANOTHER RECESSION. EVERY OTHER FRIEND I HAVE IS GETTING LAID OFF, ITS DEPRESSING. WHAT HAPPENED WHEN BUSH'S FATHER WAS PRESIDENT, WE WERE ALSO IN A RECESSION. WHAT HAPPENED WHEN REAGEN WAS PRESIDENT, RECESSION ALSO. NOW LETS GO WITH CLINTON. FOR 8 YEARS MOST PEOPLE THAT WANTED JOBS HAD THEM. THE ECONOMY WAS POSITIVE AND PEOPLE WERE NOT AFRAID TO SPEND THEIR MONEY. NOW NO ONE HAS ANY MONEY. DURING THAT TIME OF CLINTON ALSO REDUCED THE NATIONAL DEFICIT. I HAVE TO GO DEMOCRAT ON THIS ONE!

Fanzdslpwr, methinks that you are focusing too much on one issue. Do you honestly think it is Bush's fault that jobs are scarce and the economy is falling? Perhaps you should take a look at ALL the other factors that have contributed to this, including the mess that Clinton left behind. Don't forget, the years that Bush has been in power is unprecidented in history.
If you honestly think that voting for Kerry will fix the economy, then please go ahead and vote for him. However, I would ask you to take a very serious look at what Kerry is promising (that is, if you can find his promises) and then consider if America will be better of in 4 years, or a LOT worse. Please don't blindly vote just for Kerry just because one item ticks you off.
(Sounds like you have been following the mainstream media a little too closely.)

the only good i can forsee in a Kerry defeat is that we will get Hillary 4 years sooner. But to get MR Bush out I could tolerate *4 years of Kerry before Hillary takes over and gets this mess straightened up again.

Herb you are way to smart to believe she cares one iota about the little guy. She is in politics for the power that is all.
She coul never set aside the partisan retoric. She lives for it.

jfpointer - I agree with you (somewhat) regarding the "libertarian" stance but I have read several things that clarify my thoughts on badnarick's web site with regards to the terrorist attacks.

Here is a snippet.... the rest can be seen at http://www.badnarik.org/plans_wariniraq.php

" First, allow me to dispel a myth. People in the Middle East do not hate us for our freedom. They do not hate us for our lifestyle. They hate us because we have spent many years attempting to force them to emulate our lifestyle.
The U.S. government has meddled in the affairs of the Middle East far too long, always with horrendous results. It overthrew the democratically elected leader of Iran and replaced him with the Shah. After making Iranians the enemies of Americans, the U.S. government gave weapons, intelligence and money to Iran's mortal adversary, Saddam Hussein. The U.S. government also helped Libyan Col. Qaddafi come to power, propped up the Saudi monarchy and the Egyptian regime, and gave assistance to Osama bin Laden."
END QUOTE.
I have many views on our current response to the attack, the current war and all the hostage beheading - but mostly they boil down to this... IF we are going to war - lets wipe the enemy from his land, not this bs "were here in the name of liberty - “ rather reminiscent of the Catholic "holy crusades” no? We are here to save your eternal soul and in the process send many of you to meet "the man"

But now - as embroiled as we are. The next civilian that goes missing, that’s the next town that gets wiped flat. It wouldn't take long for these *(*##$#@! To get turned in by their own. ..

You can either be in charge by force or you can be in charge with moral authority, we've chosen force, so let's be forceful -
Don’t even get me started on Hillary. Today’s lesson boys and girls is brought to you by the word socialism. Can you say socialism?

Encarta® World English Dictionary - socialism: . Any of several political movements or theories of the 19th and 20th centuries based on principles of socialism, typically advocating an end to private property and the exploitation of workers

and in closing ... something from Gandhi.

"What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is brought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty or democracy?"

There are at least 100,000 newly dead Iraqi's and their friends and relatives who might agree with the Mahatma.
