Just had four wisdom teeth pulled out...
Mine were rough! I was out for it but ended up with bruising and a good amount of pain afterward. When I went all I got was Tylenol with Codene. I had mine on homecoming night when I was in the 8th grade (my HS went from 8 thru 12). My jaws swelled up, making me look like a chipmunk and I couldn't eat normal foods for a good while. The school cook was very nice though and made sure we had mashed potatoes every day!
One thing I was told was when you have teeth removed like this, its important not to eat hard stuff for a while. The removal of so much material from your jawbone could cause a crack or break at that location.

Leave it to you... haha!
Thanks for the story Top! Makes me realize that $300 for general IV was well worth it!! I heard other stories about the visual and sounds of them prying and banging around in there... haunting.
Mine went about the same. Except for there was also a giant crow bar, linemans pliers and the milk crate to stand on for some better leverage..... The oral surgeon also had his assistant hold me down so I wouldn't move....When all that didn't work then he got out the drill and split the suckers......

I had all 4 of mine out at the same time, no big deal. I just had a local and the guy had a deal that seriously did look like a teaspoon. I remember the sounds, but had no pain at all. The guy next to me though was having a couple removed as well and sounded like they were giving him the business. I remember the nurse saying something about him being a big baby.
My dad had his out when I was a kid and ended up in the hospital because they wouldn't stop bleeding for over a week. He was in pretty bad shape. I felt pretty lucky.

All four out with no probs here last year, the drugs were great I have no memory of it at all although if I remember right I think eating solid foods was no fun for awhile.....although the constant morphine at the hospital from the toasted leg in January was a lot better hands down
