Wisdom teeth...

I just had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed this morning. Two of them had to be busted out. I had braces twice as kid, and I thought it was bad when I had them tightened... man... this is twice as bad!

Any tips on how to dull this down a bit? I've got some pills to take, but they don't seem to be helping much. I've got a bag of ice that helps a little as well. Sure wish I could just make it all go numb again.

I recently had 1 tooth pulled and it was a pain as well, but 4 advils and 1 tylenol extra strength seemed to help for around 5 hours, this was as prescribed by the dentist. I was surprized it helped, but then again that for only 1 tooth....

follow the distructions of the dentist to a t brother. You DO NOT WANT DRY SOCKET! You think you are in pain now, get dry socket and you will want to die.

Agree with the dry socket, keep food out of that hole!

A little booze always helped...

Round up your neighborhood thug and buy some oxycodone off of him/her. That'll do it.

Ok, just kidding. If the meds he prescribed to you aren't doing it then call his office and have them fax in a stronger one to the local pharmacy. Not a big deal really. And yes, keep those hole irrigated well.

I'd call in and ask for a week's worth of something stronger, everybody is a bit different. I was lucky, regular tylenol is all I needed and all 4 of mine were impacted. Knew a girl in high school that had two black eyes from when they pulled hers. Careful with the booze and tylenol.

I had a dry socket and it was not fun, no sleep for 2 days straight. What I found that dulls the pain adequately is 3 Tylenol 3's and a Jack Daniel chaser...

I had mine pulled a few years ago. Two were pulled easily the other two had to be broken before being pulled out. They gave me a script for vicadin, I would take what the the bottle said to take and I would be knocked out for about 6 or so hours. I was pretty sore for a couple days and those pills worked fine.

Well, its definitely not as bad as earlier now. I took four Motrin (dentist say I shouldn't take Tylenol with the other medication they gave me). I've slept through about the past 6 hours, but now I'm gonna be all up night .

Ate some chocolate pudding and yogurt, I'll try to avoid the dry socket the best I can... that just sounds NASTY.

Thanks for the tips ya'll.

Had two pulled. All I could eat was warm and soft. KFC mashed potatoes and gravy. I don't think I'll ever eat them again. good to hear from you Dennis.

Had 3 of mine pulled 3 weeks ago. They gave me hydrocodon, promithazine, 600mg IB Profin, and some antibiotics. It hurt bad, I had 2 huge bruses on the side of my head for 5 days. Then a week after that I hydro planed my truck in sig. Hit a pipe fence head on at 50mph. Broke my nose in 5 spots, So then they gave me some more hydrocodons.

Just call them up and they will have no problem giving you something stronger. But the 3rd day is going to be the worst. It was hell for me, and I had to work. I couldnt take any sick days.
