If you think you had a bad day?
Well I don’t exactly know where to start. But I’m feeling a little down so here goes.
On Thursday night my wife got up to get up drink of water, and she had a stroke. I heard her fall, when I got to her she could not move her right side at all, and could not speak.
She is in the intensive care unit in Ft Worth. She has regained most of the use of her right side but her speech is still not too good. The Doctors seem to think that she will recover, if not completely then at least to a level that she can function as a normal person. It may take a while but that is to be expected.
The local fire department did a great job. They used to be all-volunteer but in the last few months have went paid and are on duty 24 hrs. This is good news; the response time was less than 5 min and she was at the hospital in less than 1 hr.
Times like this you realize how much you love someone, in that short time between finding her laying there helpless and the FD getting here, we where able to talk more than we have in the last two weeks. While she could not speak we were still able to communicate.
I’m not the world’s greatest at typing, and am getting a little choked just sitting here and reliving it.
So to make a long story short we need your prayers.

Bigfoot, I understand exactly what you are going through. Five years ago my then 24 year old daughter suffered a major stroke. She wound up having TWO brain surgeries (one emergency), having her heart stop (they brought her back), and now takes meds for the constant threat of seizures. I call that first week "my week of h---. It sounds like your wife is doing quite well concidering. You have my sympathy sir. I hope no one else has to endure those trying times.
