No need for that! House was already empty, that could've made a bad situation worse.

The way i look at it is i didn't start the fire and we will get there when we get there no need to kill myself or some one else. this is the reason that more firefighters die going to and from a call then in the line of duty.

They had 2 FF's killed in a collision in Waterbuty Conneticut a few months ago. They were responding to a reported but unconfirmed fire, a truck co. smashed into a pump co. from another station, the pump then hit a pole. I believe the driver of the pump and the officer of the truck were the ones killed. I am trully sorry to see somethimg like this happen, however there is absolutely NO excuse for it.

Yeah, same thing here. I've had to buy 3 times now. Once for my first fire, promotion to Engineer, and promotion to Captain. I figure that is the last that I will have to buy though. I seriously doubt that I will ever test for Battalion Chief.

As far as that video goes, it is things like that that give us a bad name. We live on a razors edge for respect and if they would have plowed into someone in that intersection what respect that we have would be lost, along with someones life.

the driver of that Quint was was out of line to blow through the intersection like that. i dont know if they were taught this or not, but when i was in classes for my EMT Basic, we were taught to always clear the intersection one lane at a time.

Just a heads up, 2 Boston fire fighters were killed in a fire last night. They got trapped in a restaurant fire when a large a/c unit fell throught the roof killing them.

I will keep you updated.

That's exactly what came to my mind. Seems like it was a McDonalds if I'm not mistaken?

Tim,

That is a bad deal. Unfortunately, as you know too well, that comes with the territory. Coming from a near death experience a little over a week ago, I can certainly empathize with their Dept. My thoughts are with their family, friends, and Dept.

Take care my friend.
