Whats up Brett, luck you for the slow shifts. So tell the group what the "wild man" did for labor day. And be sure and include pictures so we have proof that you're not just making these stories up for our enjoyment

well believe it or not, i had a very uneventful labor day! i stayed home most of it and played this dang video game. i only drank to excess one day and told the girls i was haning out with where to shove it for some reason (never do that unless you have a backup) and went on a mandate with my buddy who was fighting w/ his gf to see superbad.

that about sums it up. the weather was less then perfect and i didnt even get to take the boat out

yeah that looks like a long day. the last day of june we had a fire at marglen industries. its a carpet mill and they use recycled plastic bottles to make backing for carpet. so behind the plant they have a lot that is probably 100 yards by 200 yards that is stacked with rows upon rows of bales of plastic bottles. it was dispatched as a large column of black smoke coming from behind marglen industries so we thought it was prolly bs cause that's a regular call for us and 97.1156395684132% of the time its bs. it wasn't bs you could see the smoke from the station and the plant is a good 7 miles from the station. here is a video of it. by this time we pretty much have a knockdown on it. keep in mind it was dispatched at 1300 i believe and it was already 90 degrees then. so we were rotating people out of the bucket on the ladder. and yeah at that angle 110' is a llllooonnnngggg climb. it was a long day.

Superbad was an awesome movie.

Man I hate to say it but I’m about ready for a break. We have had at least one fire per shift (sometimes 2) for over 3 weeks straight. Set the truck up twice (2 big apartment fires). These are legitimate fires (not arson). It is really weird. Usually this doesn’t happen until the first cold snap of the year when everyone turns their furnaces on for the first time. I enjoy it while I’m there but all this paperwork is starting to suck. I hope I can just go into work tomorrow and relax and not make a run but that is wishful thinking. We’ve been averaging 8-10 runs a day. Oh well, at least I should get some sleep tonight.

Take care and be safe

Britt

At the station tonight, already had a dumpster fire up against a building which broke through and got into the loading dock area of the shipping dept, got a bunch of bales of rags going. Then a couple of "smoking in the hall" setting off the hallway detector calls. then E-1 went on a couple more dumpster fires, + a bunch of medicals, it is gonna be one of those nights. This job is making me an old man.

Oh yeah boys, I just found out I'm gonna be a grandpa.

Be safe my colleage's, Tim

Holy cow, that is an expensive burrito. Well at least you get the heartburn and explosive dia(sensored) for free. Nothing like getting a bell while sitting on the throne.

Thanks,Tim

I am a fire/medic in the Cincy area. Hopefully it will be a good day tomorrow, they have been running there butts off today. Start at 0600.

Take it easy,
