welcome to the thread.......our new engine arrived yesterday and got to see it this AM. Don't know how long till it goes in service. It is a 07 Pierce Arrow XT with a 06 Series 60. I know but they were already out of the 06 CUMMINS when it was ordered. The rest of the fleet has Series 60 and two old 8V92, and one 6V92 in a 88 Pierce Arrow that is a reserve reserve but it hauls butt, it is supercharged and turboharged. It is pretty sharp and I will get some pics later if I can figure out how to post. Brad

Ok boys, went to Boston thursday for the funeral services, they expected 20,000 FF's, well they had a lot more than that. Got to see a bunch of friends that unfortunately you don't get to see unless it is an event like this . I am also a drummer in our bag pipe band, so a bunch of us circled up after the ceremonies and had at it for a while, it was awsome.

If any of you younger guys have the opportunity to partake in some thing like this, even if you have to travel, I would strongly suggest that you do. There is no way to descibe it from a keyboard, or by talking about it, you just have to be there, I promise you, you WON'T be the same when you leave.

Stay safe gentlemen, Tim

I agree Tim, I was at the 9/11 memorial in NYC and that was UNDESCRIBABLE. It was amazing to be standing on the street in formation and look back and for the width of the street and as far back as I could see were brother and sisters lined up to pay their respects.

where is everybody

Did everyone retire and forget to tell me? Haven't seen anyone post here in a while, thought i'd bring us back to the front. I don't know about the rest of you but here in the great state of Arkansas we have to put in 28 years for a full retirement so I'll be here for a while.

Well I just turned 21 in June, started when I was 20, so I can actually retire at 50, maybe 47 if I have enough sick and annual leave. I dunno, it's so far away!!!!

and then at 45 I can get the Georgia FF pension fund.

So how many of yall have pensions??
They did away with those a few years ago. I'm on a 401K retirement, but puttin about 10 percent of each paycheck away for now. so hopefully in 30 years I'll have some play money!!!!
