Well, I find myself in quite the interesting scenario here. Pics no longer loading in this thread, but I'll recap.
I bought myself a new-to-me '07 Ram 2500 Mega Cab in 2010. A couple years later I sold my '97 Ram 2500 to a friend, who essentially did nothing but weld new rockers in, and let it sit, starting it up every couple of years.
This was my '97:
The "new" '07 and the "old" '97:
New '07. Unfortunately over time the cab corners, rockers, tailgate, and bedsides rotted out quite badly, I was really bummed out. Engine was needing some work, possibly injectors and other items. Interior was not comfortable, headlights sucked, the list went on.
I ordered a new '21 3500 Mega Cab Limited and added a Carli Backcountry lift.
I still have my '21, 95K miles, great truck! Take it to the Krown coatings dealer every August. Has had the front 1/3 and lower 1/3 wrapped since day 1.
My buddy with the '97 calls me up, says he's moving to Tennessee and asks if I'm interested in the truck...$3,700. I bought this truck in ~2006 when I lived in Texas. I looked everywhere for a 12V Cummins with manual trans, extended cab, long bed, and 4x4. I actually had to go all the way to PA to get this truck (which incidentally is where I live now).
My girls are now 15 and 16, younger one is dying for a manual vehicle and loves trucks. Figured why not go get 'er back?
I don't know what I've gotten myself into yet. What I can tell you though is using a Come-A-Long to winch this thing up onto the trailer was a nightmare! I'll need to get it somewhat running in order to get it back off the trailer.
Using a come along to pull a Cummins truck on your trailer is always a good work out. Done it many times.
Should be easy enough to get back on the road. Let me know if you need some pieces or parts for it.

Yeah it was a multi-hour process! And only one chance to back that trailer up exactly where it needed to be before winching it up...that steering wheel did not want to turn without it running.
Oh yep you are right up the coast a bit.
Good advice. I used a jack under the axle to get the wheels off the ground to steer them while positioning it around the driveway.
New batteries this weekend, and cleaned up the terminals, fired right up and purred like a kitten.
I'm looking now for replacement terminal bolts and nuts as these are pretty beat up.
