Hydrolic Problems With Tractor HELP

Hydrolic Problems With Tractor HELP My hydraulics on my McCormick CX105, staring acting up, my tractor has trouble lifting the 15 foot bat wing type mower and the steering seams to get hard to steer at the same time it does this off and on all the time, when I lift the mower the hydraulic lines running to the mower vibrate vigorously and I hear air bleeding out of the hydraulic cylinder. I took a line off the mower and the fluid would come out frothy and white, and after a while the fluid would clear up. And when in check the fluid on the dip stick before I start the tractor its normal, the steering stiff steering seams to clear up when the PTO is disengage. Could I have air leaking into the system some where. The tractor also feels as if it lags when the PTO is engauged feels like iam pushing in the clutch.

your probably also hearing your pumpt screaming when you really start moving some fluid. it sounds like your sucking air somewhere. check your suction line from the tank to the pump and check the filter.

The foam and what you say you hear sounding like air bleeding off, both point to air in the system.
When you check the fluid you should check it immediately after moving each implement a few full cycles. Safely store the implement and then check fluid.
You could be seeing a full mark on the dipstick because of bleed down.

Then if you can determine which cylinder you hear the air from, I say have it rebuilt. Shouldn't be a terrible cost and many can be done under the shadetree.

Thanks, I will give it a look! The pump makes like a hissing / grinding type sound.

So it could be the Cylender it self sucking the air.

It could be a line or cylinder. Gonna have to listen for air and look for foamy fluid leaking.
The grinding in the pump doesn't sound good at all.
I say get someone to look at it before it gets too far gone.

Air in the system could be from the pump cavatating. Check the filter and the cover plate. Most systems suck thru a filter to protect the pump from particles. Filter may have been sucked into the pickup. I cannot remember now how Case engineered those before the sale, let alone what may have been changed by Vemeer.

As per above, and pump cavitation by itself can cause some pretty weird noises. That is the noises could seem like they're mechanical, metal to metal or something, when in fact it's just the extreme pressure cavitation. Definitely something to get right on top of before it get'$ wor$e. Be careful there too.... got protective eyeware?

I haven't seen cavitation show up after the oil is compressed.
cavitation is caused by the oil being vaporized which goes away after the pump compresses the oil.

I would check the suction side first its an air problem the pump is sucking air ,not likely a cylinder its on the pressure side and would leak oil out

about the only way you will get air in a cylinder is if the load is moving the cylinder faster than the pump can move the cylinder.

btw, does this happen when the oil is cold, hot, or all the time.

when we have hyd. problems, the first thing we do is change the filter and clean the screen and that fixes our problem. Don't over look the little thing
