How long does it take you...

How long does it take you guys and gals to wash/wax/and detail you truck ? I seem to have a little OCD when it comes to my baby. Today it took me about 4 1/2 hrs to do it all. not my longest time but its close. My girlfriend already knows that saturday is wash day for my truck and says it shouldn't take that long to do it.

Every spring I wash, wax, and detail my truck. I also shampoo the carpets and the headliner. I am very picky about getting ALL the wax off my truck. I usually spend all day Saturday washing and waxing. Sunday I do the interior. I guess it usually takes me about 12-14 hours for everything. That includes the time it takes to dry out the interior.

I do all of that one time in the fall and spring but every week i wash and wax mine. I think i've spent that long when i go all out with shampooing the carpets and upholstry. My best freind spends 9 hrs every saturday or sunday meticulously detailing his 2000 dakota R/T, it sa beautiful truck you really could eat off the engine.

I pick up the phone, call this mobile detailer, he shows up, all his own soap, soft water, vacuum, and misc polishing up stuff, about 30 min later, trucks all purrtied up and ready to go, inside and out!

P.S. It only costs me $15.00!

Takes me about an hour to wash the outside, and maybe about an hour to do the inside if i vaccum, and clean it out real good. I only get to do it about once a month(when i get motivated). I really need to clean the inside out really good right now. Its filthy. I need a toolbox in the bed bad, so that i can put most my stuff in there, and not have to worry about cluttering up the cab.

Eric posted for me... Not my favorite chore but it sure looks good after a bath. Also, I bought a tool chest for a mini truck that fits down in the bed just lower than the bed rails and just narrow enough to fit in. It's perfect for towing the 5th wheel and being concealed so thieves aren't attracted to it.

best thing for the drying process is a blow gun tip for compressed air, hit all the mouding and body seems to get that anoying water that drips down just after you hit it with the chamois, the best deal around here for my truck tho is on Union blvd Totawa, best carwash around, they have at least 25 guys hand fininshing your vehicle inside and out for like 25 bux, that is the quickest way for me as doin by hand is at least an hour and by then I don't even want to mess with the inside.

About two days if I compound the running boards, stacks, and everything.

I only spray mine under the hood once or twice a year. Mostly to get crud out from plowing, doesn't get real oily. If I sprayed the cab, I might lose something. That' why I love this truck. No parking issues, no scratches going to the fishing hole.

wash/wax/general cleanup inside takes about 4hrs for me. Right now the truck is a MESS so it would probably take 6-8. I'll wait until hunting season is over, or until I have to clean blood and guts off

Not sure how long it takes. I don't do it that often, but do try to keep salt off of it in the winter.

Wash and wax? What's that? I have an old beat up rusty work truck. I hose it off when I can't see out of the windows anymore.
