Goerend not building transmissions?

I sent goerend transmission an e mail about getting a transmission built for my 12v, I got this reply today :

Sorry to say but at this time we are not taking full trans orders, parts only.* If we can help you there we would be more than happy too.* All the parts and pricing are on our website at www.goerend.com.

Thanks, Denise.

Anyone know what's going on there? I have always wanted one of Dave's transmissions, and after my last experience with a performance transmission shop I am somewhat leery about using a builder I'm not really familiar with or doesn't have an impeccable service reputation.

I'm going to make a call to goerend tomorrow time permitting and see what I can find out. I don't want to buy parts and have it assembled locally, I would rather have my trans built, or exchange it for one that has been pre-built. Anyone have any transmission shops they would recommend if I can't work something out with goerend?

Dave has a few shops that he trusts to make a GOOD build.
Check with him to see if there might be one in your area.

Thats good, but considering I am almost 2000 miles away from Dave's shop, I would rather have the trans dyno tested before I leave with it ( planning to make a road trip to get it, take my core in at the same time) so I don't get home, install the trans, and find the bands need some minor adjustments or something foolish like that. I would be much more comfortable if my trans was built in Daves own shop.

I am going to call Garmons diesel this afternoon and see if they can do anything, their customer service seems to be second to none, and I have not seen any complaints about the quality of their work, plus, he has a transmission dyno.

My guess is they are too far behind.
I ordered a transmission Feburary 21, 2012 and finally was installed May 22nd, 2012. Long wait but well worth it.
I finally have a transmission that knows exactly what to do and when to do it, well worth the wait. Installation was @ Randals Performance in Gladstone Illinois, really nice guys. I should have done it sooner like 5 years ago.

Where are you at? Tim at TRE diesel uses Goerend parts in his builds these days. He is in Virginia.

Sorry I didn't update this, been pretty busy, I spoke with goerend, that is the case, they are just too busy to take any more orders right now. I can't wait any longer, so I ordered a trans from Jeff Garmon.
