GM Plant Leveled By Tornado

General Motors Plant in OKC was just hit hard by a tornado. Looks like it is that time of year again.

How much damage was done? I saw on the news that this tornado took almost the exact same path as the big F5 one did back in May of 1999. Some of the houses it destroyed has just recently been rebuilt from the last one.

Re:GM Plant Leveled By Tornado

Hoss, quiute a bit of damage to the plant, but no serious injuries to any of the employees. Channel 11 was the only channel last night that carried ongoing extensive coverage of the OKC tornado event, and I saw some good coverage on it. Lots of damage spread over a pretty good area, and probably exceeds the damage done by the one in '99. Sometimes a less forceful tornado will do more damage because of where it hits or how long it stays on the ground, or the time of day it occurs, like the one yesterday. Let's keep all those people in our prayers; they need it.

Have you heard of any confirmed deaths? Hopefully not many lives were lost.

There were no deaths reported on the news as of 10:30 last night, only minor injuries thanks to the advance warning given by NWS before the storm got there.

My nephew was at work in Moore when that thing came through. Luckily he didn't get hit, but being the brilliant OU student that he is... he chased it. I think it was well into the distance once he started after it though. ;D ;D
