Man, that vid is something else... I'd probably be beating feet...

My OL has a good story...

But I think she's nuts. Any one know a good divorce lawyer? And a head shrinker?

Sorry, but there is nothing in that video resembling the paranormal, poltergeists, or even giant spiders. The camera's internals simply lost focus. It was an electronic glitch, plain and simple.

If you focus your eyes carefully on something against the far wall, while watching the video, you can see it is exactly in the same place it was before the focus went nuts. The camera didn't move. Nothing bumped it.

There is a remote chance some sort of bug flew through the focus area close to the camera causing the event, but I doubt it. It is much more likely that the software's focus loop hiccuped due to the low light levels.

If the focus is IR driven, it may have been responding to a warm air current, or something like that. Is the furnace down there?

OK for all you non-believers I will tell one of my stories I told here before, absolutely true and as factual as I can recall it.

I lived in a home in Northern California and had seen and heard quite a few things there, from a full body apparition of a young girl about 8 yrs old standing crying in my hallway, to one of the bedrooms being so haunted no one but my son could sleep in it.

The story I am going to tell started between midnight and 1 AM when I was awakened by the smoke alarm going off. I jumped out of bed and raced around the house while my wife got the kids up but could find no sign of fire or smoke anywhere in the house or garage.

I went back to bed with the cover open on the smoke detector because that would always silence it when it went off from me cooking (burning) dinner Maybe 45 mins to an hour later the smoke alarm was screaming again...

This time I checked the house and again no smell of smoke or visible evidence that anything was wrong. I took the smoke detector off the wall and laid it on the kitchen table with the battery laying next to it.

About an hour later it went off again I picked it back up off the table, the battery was in it and it was screaming it's loud piercing song as I opened the garage door and smashed it into a million pieces on the concrete floor.

No one in my home except myself, my wife and my 4 and 6 yr old children....Believe me I searched every inch of that place because I had decided one of my buddies was playing a trick on me, but there was no one there.

One of my friends stayed at my place for a week or so on leave and he slept in the bedroom I mentioned earlier. I awoke around 2 am to the sound of struggles and ran down the hall, I could not turn the door **** to open the door but it was not a lockable ****.

I could hear my friend struggling in the room and just as I started to shoulder down the door it opened for me. He was flat on his back on the bed trying to get up. I no more than entered the room a couple feet when he was able to bound off the bed.

To this day he swears that something had him pinned on the bed and he could not get up. Scared the bejeebers out of him and he is not one to be easily scared. He refused to go near that room again.'

When I first moved into the home, my daughter picked that room, after 2 days she refused to sleep in it, at age 4 she just basically said she didn't like it so her brother swapped rooms with her.

He stayed in that room for a year or more and never had a single complaint about it. Naturally I never spoke of this stuff to them, partly because I still don't know what the heck was happening.

It was in the hallway about the same spot that smoke detector had been mounted on the wall, just outside that bedroom that I saw that little girl. I was in the living room and heard a child crying, I thought it was my daughter and as I entered the hallway I asked "Whats the matter honey?" as soon as I did I realized the child was too big to be mine and she looked at me and just faded out of view along with the sound of her crying.

She appeared to be about 8 yrs of age, was wearing a long old fashioned looking nightgown and she had dark hair about shoulder length. My daughter was half her size with blond hair, and I could see her just as clearly as if it were actually one of my children standing there.

Another time I was actually grabbed under the arm pits and lifted off my bed and slammed face first on the floor by a completely unseen force of some kind. Not much story to tell there really, I was vocally telling who ever was in the house to leave because it was my place and they didn't belong there, I guess the intent was to show me other wise....

The home I have been living in now for the past 15 years was empty when I purchased it, built in 1976. The owner had inherited it from his parents after they passed away. I know nothing of how or where, but I later grew to believe that the mother probably died here in the home.

We had been in the place about a week and I was asleep in bed around 4 am, something woke me up, I don't know if it was a sound or what...I just woke up and opened my eyes. I was laying on my right side and as soon as my eyes focused I realized I was looking face to face with an old woman about 2 inches from my nose

I backed up so quick I almost knocked my wife off the other side of the bed as I watched this woman stand up grasping what appeared to a laundry basket and walk out through the closed door.

My wife was wanting to know what the heck I was doing and I just told her that I had a cramp and to go back to sleep. I later saw this same older woman a couple times again around 4 in the morning, carrying a basket of laundry in the bedroom.

I haven't seen or heard anything in this home for over 10 years now, I believe what ever kind of energy it was faded away as we made this place our home.

I often think that perhaps what I saw was kinda of like watching a short film play over and over again about the same time in the early morning. Perhaps this woman had trouble sleeping as we all do when we get up in years and would do a basket of laundry when she could not sleep waiting for dawn.

2 entirely different kind of haunts if you choose to call them that, the first place seemed intent on getting me to leave, the second felt like it just took awhile for the woman to let go of her home.

OK there you go folks, you can think what you wish about what I told you here. I don't know exactly what I experienced or why I experienced the things I did, I just know that these things DID happen to me.

Ghosts?, Demons?, Spirits? or maybe the cheese shifted a little on my cracker those nights I honestly don't know and can't prove a thing I said here except for the few times others were involved, and again it would just be their take on the events.

Now video like we have here, is a whole different ballpark. While we can't tell if maybe the guy has a string tied to this stuff and just jerking our chain a little....But my guess would be that isn't the case here. I know for a fact that things happen that we just can't always explain and this looks to be one of those things

I agree completely about the focus thing, could be the camera on auto focus just trying to decide which object in front of it is supposed to be the target.

However, you need to look at around 6:40 on that vid and watch the weight equipment, clearly the stuff moves and in a BIG way

Interesting Fact:

As I sat here getting creeped out by Top's story, I realized that Alabama's song "Angels Among Us" was playing on my iPod in the background. Coincidence??

No coincidence there.

By the way, I will readily admit that I am skeptical of MOST "ghost stories". That's partly because I think some people are just trying to get attention and partly because I have never personally witnessed anything that I would consider to be paranormal and that naturally makes me somewhat skeptical.

With that being said, if someone I know and trust tells me they experienced something then I'm inclined to believe them. I've never met Lary in person, but I've been around this board long enough to consider him a trustworthy source...for whatever that's worth.

I'll also say this. I DO believe in angels. I also know that there are several accounts in the Bible of people seeing ghosts, and since I believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God I'm inclined to believe those events actually took place. So, while I'm still skeptical of most "ghost stories", I also believe that it's entirely possible for there to be ghosts/angels and maybe even demons roaming the earth.

One more thing...Top...if I awoke to find an old lady's face two inches from my nose I'd scream like a girl...and she'd probably get hit or kicked as I tried to climb over my wife to get away (if it's possible to hit a little old lady ghost).

I could not see any movement at that time. What I saw was the camera going out of focus giving the appearance of movement.

Hit the nail directly on the head. I have witnessed some things that, in my mind, couldn't have been anything other than a ghost or spirit.

i personally am terrified of the fact of a ghost old lady looking at me when i wake. i can almost gurantee i would be out of my rented house within the day. i dont like scary movies, they get to me...

i am unsure of ghost and spirits and demons... if they do exist i would prefer no contact.

you first. i don't really belive in the ouija board but i'd rather not try that. as far as the camera, it does have ir illumination. plus a feature to enhance the ir called supernight shot plus. i did have the focus set to auto, and the dvdr set to hd quality. the furnace is in the basement. the fan was set to on, you can see it in the vid-right hand side of water heater. so why it looses focus can be debated, i wont discard theorys on that topic.

the 'median' that i mentioned did refer to a older man, drank alot, very regretfull. also a older woman, from the way i understood it likes the house and "resides here". but what is interesting is also a little boy (supposedly) is here to. and we were told he wants to be acnolaged. my neigbor did tell me that the original owners had a boy with "issues". lots of screaming, loud music, bedroom light on all night, every night. no mention thogh if they lived here.
as for what i do know. someone had been on medical equipment because my electric meter has a tag and lock saying " medical/life equipment, do not interrupt power. this coencides with 2 24hr emergency outlets that have a battery backup(too bad it doen't work).

I didn't have enough air to scream...all that left me the moment I realized what I was seeing I want to point out that it wasn't as though she was looking at me, but rather my bed just happen to be in the spot she bent over to pick up the basket of laundry...There was never any sense that she was aware of me.....which was probably a good thing or we both would have been screaming like little girls

You know as freaked as I was by this, I actually laughed it off the next couple times I caught a climpse of her. I thought, heck leave her alone as long as she is keeping the clothes clean

I don't know.....truthfully I really don't know why I saw these things or if I will ever see anything like it again. I am convinced though that there is more going on than we are able to understand, be it spirtual or paranormal.

I am a bit of an Einstein fan and read a good deal about some of his ideas and theories. The idea that time and space can be bent in a manner so that the past and present may occupy very close proximities has been proven via complex mathematics.

Perhaps it is entirely possible that we might, without even being aware of it, share a moment in time with someone that has long since passed. I don't discount any possibilty at all...I am but a simple man and for the most part I don't really have need to understand it all. I know what I saw and that is good enough for me.
