wow, i had thought i was going to burn bad for this post-i see i am not alone. thanks everyone. as for the vid, it is on my computer but i don't know how to post it.

this is exactly what started it all. my wife has never heard it though. in my vid i filmed the area where i "hear" things. i had done other areas, but nothing.

I am glad you ask that,

Ok now first off I consider myself to be on the intelligent side and analytical side so if anything happens I have to find out why.
I do not know what you would call them; ghosts, spirits, guardian angles but I do know for certain not my imagination.

Maybe if something happened once or twice then maybe but I have had lots of encounters as well as my wife and daughter.

Here are some of the things that have happened,
First off when my daughter was born she got real sick and to make a long story short everything in my life came to an abrupt stop as she had spent the next 6 months of her life in the hospital more off than on, She was in NICU and then ICU for 6 months and we would take turns staying with her, I spent many many nights not sleeping while propped up on the reclining chair with my hands through the crib holding her hand, foot or just touching her so we could be connected somehow.

If you have ever been unfortunate enough to spend a part of your life there you will know what they are like, you try to keep your room cheerful while sickness and sadness are all around you with monitors and oxcimeters beeping, IV pumps become a part of your life. At night they turn out the lights and the only light there is comes from the nurses station.
All of the nurses knew me well and I would go for walks and wander all around the floor, many times I would see little kids walking in the room or in the halls you would usually see them out of the corner of your eye but many times I would see them walk across the open doorway. I also remember seeing an adult size person carrying a child maybe 6 months old walk past our room and when I would go to the doorway there would be nobody there, my wife would also see them.

Finally got out of there and now we are at home, these are kind of out of order but here are some things that have happened, our daughter would be sitting all by herself and I would watch her as she would make faces and wave to someone in the room that we could not see, then when she was a few years older she would wave and carry on conversations with someone in the room, later we ask her who she was talking to and she said” little Dolly”, the little person over there with white hair. My grandmother was named Dolly, white hair and wasn’t much taller than maybe 4’10” only problem is she had died more than 10 years before.

Here is another one, I am at home and I will be working on something while sitting on the floor, I will look up and look face to face with a small child maybe about 5 years old, and within a blink they are gone or I will hear a sound and look over my shoulder to see a person leaving the room, these are usually children, I am not afraid of them and they do not seem to be bothered by me. I will tell my wife about it the next day and she will usually tell me she had also seen someone, this has been going on for about 30 years as long as we have lived in this house.

Here is another time I was in the bathroom and standing in front of the mirror, if you look across you can see the shower door with yourself in the way, there was a towel I had just hung over the handle of the shower door, I had hung it on the Left side. Something had caught my eye as I looked through the mirror at the folded up towel SLOWLY MOVE along the door handle to the RIGHT side, this took about 20 seconds as I stood there and watched.

A few years ago I had an old friend Jay I had worked with back in the early 70’s move in next door to us, this guy kind of idolized me. He was a security guard so he got home at 2:30 A.M. every night like clockwork and park down the street to the left of our driveway, get his briefcase and slowly walk across the front of out house smoking a cigarette and go home.
Then some years ago his dad came over all worried because he could not get a hold of him even though his car was there so after not being able to get him I opened a window and tried to find him searching the house, I finally found him floating face down in the swimming pool, not good.. He got home and went out to the pool for some reason about 3:00 A.M. and he has a seizure and fell into the pool and had drowned. I had heard the splash in the pool but for some reason I did not go to investigate although I probably couldn’t have done anything I tell myself.

Now the strange part is I have a security and surveillance system at my house and as I work on one of my computers like now I can watch the 2 monitors next to me and see the entire property 16 views with IR cameras that see in total darkness.
Once in a while I will see movement across the screen of a shadow walking across the driveway from left to right, not solid but just a faint image and it is always at 2:30 A.M. and sometimes I can also smell cigarette smoke. My neighbor across the street also will sometimes see something and smell the smoke.
The technical side of me wonders if the IR night vision cameras with the CCD and CMOS sensors that can see things out of the range of human vision are seeing something we are not?

About 6 years ago I had a big job in Chino, Ca. It was a big warehouse and I was doing the electrical, networking, telco and paging system. It was a big indoor RV storage company. When I started the building was empty, it was winter and this place was COLD, all closed in but cold and big. This job took months to complete I installed miles of Cat-5 cable while on a scissor lift 30’ in the air. I worked at night and I was alone, to keep from freezing I had a big propane heater on the ground blasting out some heat anyhow as I was working I kept hearing music playing not loud but I could definitely hear it well enough to know it was Big Band music like Glen Miller and it was kind of nice but I did not know where it was coming from but it was inside the building so I am walking all around looking for the radio and then I thought well maybe it was a station bleeding through the paging system but I had not been connected yet. For some reason I went to move the heater when I found that the music was coming from the heater, right out of the FLAME as I turned off the flame the music went away. My boss and several other people also heard this when I told them the next day.
So I am now installing the paging system and I am back up on the lift installing the horns when I noticed a big section of the roof looked like it had burned and repaired. (keep this thought) A few days later I was at the supply house several blocks away and I was telling one of the workers about it and come to find out he knew a security guard that used to work at the building and was told stories of this company, FMC and during WW-II they assembled Battle Tanks and munitions there and that there was an accident resulting in an explosion and about 30 workers were killed, this was the burned section I had found.
So my theory is there were 30 or so souls that got pulled out so fast that they have not left or something.

Then the next week I was installing the telco system and I was in a closet punching down 2) 100 pair cables onto a backboard, I was again all alone and I was talking to myself calling out the colors of the wires when out of nowhere a Freezing blast of cold air came from the ceiling right down on the top of me, this did spook me out because up until now nothing had been aggressive towards me and this made me a bit uneasy.
Fast-forward about a month and the company is open and full or class-A coaches and boats. There is an insurance adjuster that needs to see a ski boat in the back corner so they show him where it is and he goes by himself with his Polaroid camera. He takes the picture of the bow of the boat and the picture comes out of the camera, he looked at the picture and came running and screaming through the office, On the deck of the boat you could clearly see a person standing there THROUGH the deck but under the bow there was no LEGS.
We heard from many people that this building was haunted.

I also have real strong premonitions about things all of the time, I frequently will stop at a Green light and wait just to have a car go through the Red light that would have broadsided me. My wife is a witness to this and she will say how did you know?

I know most people never see or feel things like this or maybe afraid to but I have always seen these, maybe it takes either you or someone close being close to death or being around where there was people who died like in the hospital to tune you in to it.

You can believe it or not but I know what I have seen time and time again and was witnessed by others.

I have many more and some that have happened as recently as last month.

I am curious to hear of the experiences from Paramedics, EMT’s and ER doctors and nurses, I know a few that have told me some stories.

If you believe it or it has happened to you I want to hear more but if you don’t then you don’t, but do not say it doesn’t happen, it just hasn’t happened to you.

Very interesting reading!! Keep the stories coming. Jim, I am by no way discounting your stories, but as a Paramedic, I've never experienced anything. I guess some people have the "gift" if thats what you want to call it, I don't have it. I would love to hear some of the other medics or medical personell tell their stories! Great thread!

 

i'd think not many stories would come from the ems side, as the scene is usually so chaotic, that short of someone who has already been pronounced getting up and yelling boo! nothing would get noticed. it seems to make sense that jim's accounts come from the hospital, where it is quiet enough to notice something unusual.

 

I want to hear logskidders story.... but anyway heres one I'm a part in.


When I was little I had dreams of a house burning down and a woman burning in it. I would get really bothered by this and told my Mom about it many times. I pointed out where the house was out back a ways from our house but there is nothing there.

Anyway my Mom finally mentioned it to my Dad and he explained that it was his Dad's (my Grandads) birth mother. She was cooking in the early 1910's and caught her dress on fire and burned to death and the house was burned down as well.

My Mom had never heard the story and I certainly had never heard it from anyone, pretty freaky.

There also used to be an old stone church out on our property that I remember having dreams about when I was little. Nothing was ever scary or bad about those dreams. I only remember seeing people dressed nicely like they were going to church (duh) standing out in front. My Mom told my Dad about these dreams too and he showed her where the old church stood. Again she never knew about the church and nobody ever told me.

Apparently it was built way back in the early 1800's and he remembered it being a pile of fallen stones when he was little. They took the stones out of the field when he was a teenager and built a small building with some of the stones. This building is still out here behind the house.


The really creepy story is when my brother called home and talked to my doppelganger! When my brother and I were still in high school, my Mom and brother one day went to town and me and my Dad stayed at home and worked outside. We were both mowing, weedeating and such.

Anyway my brother called home to ask if we wanted anything to eat. "I" apparently picked up the phone and talked to him for a few seconds and then just hung up. My Mom overheard "me" talking to him. They knew they were talking to "me" because "I" called out my brother by name.

So when my Mom and brother came home they were mad! They came in talking about how I hung up on them and didn't answer when they called back. Well this just started up a whole ruckus because I never was in the house and my Dad was backing me up. I had been with him the whole time.

To this day my parents refuse to believe one another on the situation. My Mom thinks I actually answered the phone and am denying it. My Dad gets mad and just always says that I was with him.

My brother and I believe each other and think that something generally odd happened. I always joke with him that he talked to my doppelganger and still messes with him to the point that he'll get mad if you push him with questions and such.

OK. i got the vid on you tube. i don't know how to post link here, but on that site type in unexplained movement, in the vid description it says weird unexplained movement in basement.
what you will be looking for is the bow flex looking thing-the rods. at the beginning of the vid they move a little. then, go to about 6:40min and keep watching them. the vid gets blurry for a moment then you see more movement. what i can't figure out is why the cam kept getting blurry. i have speculations on why but don't have a definitive way to prove my theory.
