We had that week or so about 6 or 7 years ago when we got like 3 inches of ice. The primary roads were clear enough to drive the next day, secondary roads took two days.

I Have the ocean to keep me warm Doc, funny as it sounds it is true the cooling energy if you will , from the air, tries to cool the land and the water to the same degree, but the water requires much much more energy to be cooled , so it slows down the entire cooling process. same in the summer with heat, anything over 27-28 degrees here is HOT, the water absorbs all the heat energey from the sun for us

Think of the ocean like my personal heat exchanger, warms things up in the winter , and cools things off in the summer.
