Fall Back

Tonite is the nite we set the clocks back an hour.

And let's not forget those smoke detectors - "Change your clock, change your batteries".

Changing the batteries in a smoke detector is such a simple thing to do to keep yourself and your family safe.

You should have a smoke detector on every level of your home, and ideally, in each bedroom. If any of you need a smoke detector, PLEASE PM me and I'll see to it you get at LEAST one.

Stay safe!

Might want to add a few CO detectors to the home also.

Who else gets to work an extra hour for free tonight?

Yes, getting dark at 6 is going to suck. Even more so when the sun sets at 4:44 in December

I'll third the o2 sensors, trust me on this one. I was poisoned last January, no fun at all my friends. I was 21PPM when I got to the hospital, they were ignoring me in the waiting room so I ran over and puked in the receptionist little waste basket, that got them moving! Second time in my life I thought I would just assume die than feel the nagging discomfort.

We have one on each level now, basement, main floor and upper. No such thing as too safe when it comes to these detectors, if you even so much as THINK you have one with some age on it (dusty inside) or a possible malfunction, REPLACE IT!

My son gets on the bus at 6:45, I'll welcome that daylight then, but still hate the dark at dinner time aspect.

C02 = Carbon DIoxide

CO = Carbon Monoxide.

Just trying to avoid confusion.

Good thread!

Remember to replace your smoke detectors every 10 years also. The wear out like everything else.

The preceeding public announcment was brought to you as a public service by DTR and your local ISP provider.

"We care about your safety, do you?"

The Gecko brings up a good point too, (amazing as that may be!).

Some of the new smoke detectors contain a 10 year lithium battery that, (as far as I know), cannot be replaced, so you HAVE to replace the whole detector every 8 to 10 years. Kind of a good idea as long as you test the detectors every month or so to ensure they're still working. No batteries to have to worry about.

There is talk that some of the states will make it a mandate that these are the only type of detectors that may be sold, so make sure you know what you're buying if you ge tnew ones.

CO2 is the gas we exhale.
CO is the byproduct of combustion.

I hate this time change deal, this is the first year that we've ever had to do it here and we all hate it. Why can't they just keep it simple. If you want to be at work earlier get up an hour earlier. How hard is that to do compared to having to change the time. Oh well just my thoughts
