Falken tires for Daily Driver
My Daily Driver is in need of new tires, the BF Goodrich AT tires I currently have on are done. Has anyone used Falken Rocky Mountain II tires? My DD is a 96 Yukon 4x4. I use it to haul wood and drive to and from work. I didn't want to spend the money on BF Goodrich since this truck has 230k on the odometer, but wanted a tire to drive in all weather conditions. Any info on these would be much appreciated. Thanks

Never used em. Made in Thailand so I would trust em more than the China made ones.

They are rated for 50k. If the Yukon outlast the tires I'll be . I've owned this truck since 1999. I bought it with 30k on it, so I think I got my money out of her. Falken's were $671 with rotation and balance, but won't be in til Weds. Sounds about right,8-12" of snow expected tonight through Sunday night. Hopefully the BF's get through it! BTW, I put a can of Fix a Flat in the back rear while on vacation on the 4th of July. I haven't ever used Fix a Flat before, but I haven't added any air to the tire since. Yes, I told the Tire place I put it in.Thanks Fix a Flat for giving me another 10k out of the BF's.
CTD will get the Good Stuff. I'm hoping to have a leveling kit, rims and tires on her by Spring. Thanks for the replys. Take Care.

I just put BFG AT/TA's on my 246,000 mile 90 Amigo. I figure that if it dies before they need replaced I can slap the old ones back on it in a couple hours and re-sell the good ones. Got them offa evilpay and changing them myself and using bead balancing, comes out to just about $700 for all 4 31X10.50R15's.

These are the first IMO "cheapo" tires I have ever bought. BF's were gona set me back $1000. I figure I'll take the savings and put the money into the CTD. The Beast is my new baby, the Yukon is my salty road, get in the mud, go ahead and pull out in front of me vehicle She's been a great truck. Never left me on the side of the road and I hope the BF's don't ruin my luck

I know what you mean! My tahoe has 160K on it and I just put a set of Mastercrafts on it for about the same.
She breaks down occasionally, but easy to fix....

Wow, your getting shafted in biblical proportions! I can get 16" BFG's, Michelins, or bridgestones/Firestones for waaaay less! Falkens should cost you around 400-450 on the truck.
Not sure why tires in Indy cost so much more than tires in Mass?
Good luck with whatever your choice is.

Tires are 285/75/16 on Colorado Custom rims. Not stock. Regardless they're cheaper than BFG's in my neck of the woods. Like I said before, the price is with Discount Tire balance and rotation for life of the tire.

Too bad you are not down here in Texas.... You can go by just about any Mexican tire shop and buy a 75-80% set of AT's, MT's or just about any kind of off road tire for $200-300 bucks, mounted balanced and they get rid of your old rubber. I have a set of 12.5 15 33's MT's on my Samurai and I can bet they will dry rot before they wear out. My sammy is a total woods beater that may see 500 hwy miles a year, but sees 10 times that off road.
