Ebay Scam alert or what?
#16
Thats MR Hoss to you buddy!
I have a guy "in the United Kingdom" right now who claims he wants to buy a weight machine from me. I had it listed on Ebay for $500. He emailed me and asked what I wanted for it. Knowing it was a scam, I told him $5,000. He said okay...he just needed my address to send the money order to. And oh, by the way, "I'm sending more than you asked for and you can send the extra to me via Western Union to cover the shipping."
Yeah right.
I responded and told him the price had gone up to $12,000 PLUS shipping to the UK...and that he had to pay me through Paypal. He never emailed me back. Wonder why??

Thanks for all the advice guys and gals. I won't contact or respond to this "John Smith" character. Unfortunately, someone else will and will probably get scammed.

That's why I only buy from EBAY sellers with several hundred sales, and 90%+ positive comments unless it's something that nobody else has, and it's cheap enough that I won't loose my shirt if it goes bad.
I haven't been burned yet, although I know of a few who have been.
