Morning all.

Today is Thursday, January 13th.

On this day in 1794 - U.S. President Washington approved a measure adding two stars and two stripes to the American flag, following the admission of Vermont and Kentucky to the union.

1928 - Ernst F. W. Alexanderson gave the first public demonstration of television.

1942 - Henry Ford patented the plastic automobile, which allowed for a 30% decrease in car weight.

1966 - Robert C. Weaver became the first black Cabinet member when he was appointed Secretary of Housing and Urban Development by U.S. President Johnson.

1982 - An Air Florida 737 crashed into the capital's 14th Street Bridge after takeoff and fell into the Potomac River. 78 people were killed.

1989 - Bernhard H. Goetz was sentenced to one year in prison for possession of an unlicensed gun that he used to shoot four youths he claimed were about to rob him. He was freed the following September.

1992 - Japan apologized for forcing tens of thousands of Korean women to serve as sex slaves for Japanese soldiers during World War II.

2002 - U.S. President George W. Bush fainted after choking on a pretzel.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
If scientists were ever going to figure out how to travel through time, wouldn’t we now be seeing people from the future?

Coffee, tea and rotten banana ph00 are ready.

Heading out to the part time, can't wait to see what got broke during the storm yesterday. I love working on trucks with snow, slush and salt dropping all over me.
Better you than us. Did a bit more snow removal last night to prep for the weekend. Calling for 4-6 inches. Last couple times they said 4-6" I got about 14". On the good side, when they called for a foot or better twice this year, I only got about 4".

Fun day so far. With our wonderful roads up here, I busted a shock mount pin up front. Had to crawl under at a gas station in the dark and secure the shock from being beat up. Limped it in the rest of the way on back roads, because if I get up towards 60mph, it wanted to start the death wobble on the rough spots. Got a spare pin at home, but it'll be a long drive. Was gonna change the oil anyway.

Nope it wasn't. At least things are a little more reasonable at work today. Janitor's not in his deer suit spooking freeway traffic into crashing, today.

Almost afternooner. Went out for some brunch on base, there is this place called the afterburner, burritos and omlets... they had a new burrito called the surf and turf... five pounds of steak, shrimp, and a bunch of other stuff... I couldn't do it. I just got tired of eating. Wasn't bad, wasn't great. Not gonna have to eat for a few days, tho...

Not much going on at the moment. One of our computer systems is down, so we're kinda staring at the wall...

Had a wet burrito for dinner last night, with a couple amber bocks. All they have that's close to what I like.
