my nurse buddy from kindergarten (who deals in the area of recovery for kids) says walking the stairs and misdirection slows down the reactions. there is no response to directions, just do it. wonder if there is anything on line as to how to work that out....

Update from Seattle: the series of intensive treatments have concluded. The tests still show complete remission but she did require another blood transfusion. Now working on the stabilization and continual testing of blood working toward getting her released from needing to be so close to the hospital. Hopefully February 1st will see them moved back to the island and into the house they purchased seven months ago and have never lived in. Been a tough time but Ianna has been a trooper. Other than the times of heavy steroids, she has remained quite upbeat and positive in her attitude and we are seeing a definite return of her happy and outgoing personality.

Mommy and daddy still need desperately to get that previous property sold to get that expense off their back. This whole thing has really put them behind the eight ball, so your remembering that need would be appreciated. Thanks for your continued prayers for the family as they try and transition back to a more normal life and continued health for Ianna.

Keep a warm place in your hearts for us today please. Court started about 45 minutes ago. If we don't finish today we will have to stay the weekend and carry on Monday.

Thanks a bunch folks! Day one in the books, lawyer was happier at the end than at the beginning but we still have another day to go on Monday. Keep the thoughts and prayers going please!

 

Update from Seattle. Mommy dropped me a note from the hospital to let me know what is happening. A little surprised - - supposed to be Friday, tomorrow. Anyhow, blood is slowly rebuilding and the doctors were very pleased. They are ready -- finally - - to initiate the first of the maintenance drugs. If she reacts well, they will go home either last week of January or 1st week of February. So, now the emphasis of prayer goes to accepting the new drugs with no reactions. Please Lord - - we need this sooooo bad.

Appreciate the prayers, notes, PM's, encouragement from all of you during this time - - it has been tough on all of us. You just can't remove it from your mind. I will keep you UTD as things progress.

The entire situation will remain in my daily prayers until you tell us to stop.

 

Thanks for your prayers and support. It has been a great help getting thru all this. The wife comes on here to read your comments - - - it has been uplifting to us.

Now, for more news. Just heard from Jacque and they have been released to start the move home. The numbers they were looking for in her blood count is over 750. She has improved from 200 six days ago to 1800 today. This is a huge hurdle she has gone over - - the body is regenerating the blood count naturally instead of needing transfusions.

They cannot leave quite yet until they complete the setup for this new stage of treatments. But, they should make their end of month evacuation in their apartment. God is good - - He has been a constant support to us and to our kids. They have all ready made the phone calls to friends who are waiting for the word to come and haul them out. Their friends have been amazing thru this whole ordeal.

Thanks again for another update. GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God answers prayers!!!!!!!! There is absolutely zero doubt in my mind that He answers prayers. OK, sometimes He does not answer exactly the way we may have asked, but His way is ALWAYS better. All I know is that for this situation, that it appears that my prayers are being answered. Will keep on praying daily.
C'mon guys and gals, how 'bout more prayer to get these folks home and their other house sold fast.

 

Made a vague Ben-Hur reference yesterday in the breakroom (Bobs tile roof).
As a kid, the healing of the lepers was always my favorite part of that movie (next to the Chariot race).
Wish life really did work that way but the next best thing seems to be good thoughts and prayer.
I really do think it has an impact even though we can't always see it.
