Got an update from my neighbor today. She says things are better considering all that's going on. A long-strained relationship has mended. Her grandson has made physical progress (he's well enough to drive) and he's gone from sad/depressed to angry so psychologically, that's progress. The GFs family still needs prayers of course, they lost a daughter. She was 25.

Neighbor says thanks for all the prayers. She says they can feel them.

My sister had her CT scan and she will see the docs tomorrow to discuss the results. I will post what we learn.

 

Well, I'm not one to ask for myself, but this time I may need a bit of help. Some of you know in the past I have had lower GI problems, and last week started bleeding again, pretty bad this time. My wife drug me to the doc, and long story short, going into the hospital tomorrow morning for a colonoscopy. Way different kind of pain this time, kinda like a broken bone, dull ache then with sharp jabs. The doc cancelled two others to get me in, would not really tell me anything, just that we need to get you in right away to have a look. I really did not like the look on his face.

So, if you have a moment, I would greatly appreciate it. While your at it, FiverBob could use a few words as well, And lest we forget our great Canadian ScotTy, and our fearless leader Top.

This is the first time I've seen this thread, and the first time I've ever seen anything like this on an automotive webite.
I've seen prayer request before, but never a stickied, dedicated thread.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank the admin (Totallyrad) for having the heart and conviction to start and keep it going.

You are on the list, big guy. That is nothing to play with. But we have a big God who loves to whip up on problems - - He uses them sometimes to get our attention. So, pay attention to Him first, then your doctor. We will be remembering you in our prayers. I have empathy with you - - I have to be very careful of what I eat due to the same type problems.

Prayers to you Wyo. My bad for not getting to this thread as often as I should.

I got news about my sister...all the testing they have done since the discovery of the cancer has shown her to be clean! She does follow up testing every 60 or 90 days for the next two years.

I am still struggling with the slow movement of our health care system and issues that need to be dealt with. I try hard to focus on the solutions rather then the problems...most of the time I can do that. I have to ask for Help and move away from the negatives that can drag me down.

Prayer as worked for my sister and thank you one and all on this site for your efforts and Strength.

Scotty, great news! It is good to see an update when prayers are answered!
Don't believe we have a God that loves us and takes care of us? It may be in "His time" instead of our timeline, but he does/will!
I had started the process to be a kidney donor for my sister (by adoption). Her chances of being matched by anyone were extremely low...4%. Long story short, the other day she got a call that an anonymous donor was a match for her!! She has the surgery Nov 1st. She has endured a great deal, but out of the blue, a huge answered prayer!!

I just received word from my wife that the doc gave me a clean bill of health. "He was very surprised that there were no lesions, Polyps, Cancers, or anything of any kind. Just a small bleed that looked as though it were cauterized recently. As a matter of fact, things actually look better than 7 years ago at his last attack"

Now to some, this may be a mystery, but we all know how in a matter of 24 hours, bleeding stopped, pain went away, and everything cleared up. I don't know how he did it, and I am not sure I would understand if he did, all this country bumpkin knows is he is there, and strong as ever.

Thank you for your prayers, kind words and thoughts. If there is every any doubt, one need only look up and ask... (a couple of good folks doin the same thing never hurts either!!!)

Probably not the best place to say this, but I've fought with the existence of God for decades. Not becuase I don't believe, but because I've spent my entire life almost, dealing with "Tangible Evidence."
Things you can see, feel, hear and smell.

I've spent it doing things that you can qualify and quantify a position to prove a case. I'm a "prove it to me" type most of the time.
Believe me, that really screws you up at times

But in those same decades, I've also witnessed several "miracles", some my own, many more for others, that could not be "explained away."
You just have to believe, call it blind faith if you will (which is the part that always messes me up-until God smacks me in the face with another miracle!), in something/someone, more powerful.

I understand, and actually I felt the same way for a long time. No real light bulb moment that changed my mind. Just seems as though one day I just knew it (remarkably close to the same day I met my wife).

But here is some tangible evidence for you...

LAst weekend my Step father came up from denver to pick up some hay. HE pulled up his 16' bumper pull. We loaded 3 tons of hay on it. The next day he told me for some reason he could not get his trailer breaks to work on the way up, so we needed to chase wires to see if we could find anything wrong. Did the normal stuff first and could not find anything. Power was where it should be, when it should be. The controller had a NS error displayed (No Signal). So I climbed underneath to look at the wires back at the axles to see if I could find anything. Looked at the axles and BOTH sets of hangars and brackets were hanging. Both sides had broken from the bolts and the leafs were sitting on the frame.

Had the brakes been functioning, and he had left, he surely would have been killed the first time he went over a hump in the road at speed. There is little doubt the trailer would have flipped over.

Now here is the tangible part. I was walking to disconnect the trailer after we found the broken hangars and brackets, My step dad got in the cab, and the brake controller was now working. All we did was look under the trailer, the wires are in the frame and I never got back far enough to touch them. We touched nothing, and did nothing to the trailer or the truck.

After unloading the hay I checked the circuits on the trailer. Nothing wrong, everything functioning perfectly. That trailer was not meant to go down the road, at least not that time.

It is simply not possible for a trailer to not work, travel 500 miles, get 3 tons of hay put on it, drive through a field, sit over night, all while not working, and within a two minute time span, after a diagnostic test that showed positive functionality but no operation, to simply work after a two minute period during which nothing was done to it, and be fully functioning to this day.

Ockum's Razor requires even the purest (and open minded) scientist to admit that the simplest answer to the riddle, must be Devine Intervention. There simply is no other logical conclusion.

I don't know what his plans are, and I probably could not understand them if he did, I have just come to understand and have faith that he has one for me (and everyone else), if we simply are willing to follow it.

 

Here's a story of my Higher Power at work in my life...

Before my wife and I got married, I had a trip planned to TX. She was living at her place and I had my place in the valley. After discussing the plans and getting ready for the trip at her place she decided to drive out to my place the next day, spend the night and leave from there. When I got home I laid down and a voice or a msg came to me that said; "Not right now." I was not sure if that meant anything about myself and my wife or the trip or what. All I thought was more will be revealed. The next morning I got into my truck and went to get my mail. When I came out of the post office I saw oil under the truck. I drove home and found that I had blown a head gasket. When I stepped out of the garage I heard and felt a crunch in my left knee and it locked. Torn cartilidge and a torn ligament...all I did was step out of the garage. I already knew we were not going. I did not need the knee to come apart...then I thought yeah I probably would have gone if it was just the knee and no head gasket damage. Megs shows up and sees that my LEGG is all blown up and then I showed her what happened to the truck. I told her about my dream, or message. Move forward 48 hrs and this would be the day I would have been traveling in TX. The route I had planned was hit by several severe storms and large tornadoes...death and mayhem. Thanks God. Sorry for the folks in that path.

I could post at least another 3-4 encounters I had like this where I know God was acting in my best interest.

One time the word DUCK comes to mind.
