Driving Distracted
Sorry to point this out but 3 times is 300%. If you are Brittany Spears, eating fried chicken, nursing your new born, talking on the cell phone drinking a latte and racing the paparatzzi through Hollywood, I wonder what your chances are. I agree, dont drive and be stupid. The wife always try's to hand be my burger before we hit the end of the pavment in the drive through, but I wait till we're on the open road and things have calmed down. We both have hands free voice activated Bluetooth's for our phones, and we keep the children heavily sedated with a mini LCD DVD unit with head phones.

That settles it! Hot babes are more likely than cell phones to be distracting. They must be outlawed in public.
Don't forget the sign of the times, unfortunately many people due to choices of their own in most cases, are simply running out of time to accomplish their daily routines. I don't need no study to tell me that 25 years ago when I started driving the only distraction was lighting a smoke, tuning your manual radio (what do you expect from a 1981 Yellow, vinyl seats and I lived in Northern Quebec at the time 4 speed 2-door, but as my Dad said it was brand new and paid for with reasonable insurance rates, unfortunately my dream car was a Mustang or Capri, needless to say my Dad was a Ford man).
I don't remember people reading maps while driving, you just pulled over, reading a paper while in traffic, or a book, or using your laptop, or reading your GPS, and lets not mention all those convenient DVD players, great for the kids the back seat, unfortunately some idiot has mounted one in his dash and watches whatever he wants while as "EdwinSmith" mentioned does his daily hygiene, etc. We are all guilty of reaching for our cup of Timmy's while driving but that is a far cry from say a CROSS WORD PUZZLE.
My wife will not let me make a cell phone call while I am driving, it really irritated me at first but like she often is she is right, I nearly flattned a deer because of a moment of inattention while seaching for what I thought at the time was a very important phone number. I now will pull over or if it is that urgent will tell the caller that I will return the call shortly.
As is often stressed common sense is often thrown out the window.
Again thanks to DTR for allowing these little
Cheers every one and have a great Greek Orthodox weekend

I have shaved, eaten, even brushed my teeth while driving without problems. I dont however, try to do this in Dallas rush hour traffic.
I caught a story on GMA the other day about a guy with a 185 mile commute each way. Thats a minimal 3 hr commute. that 6 hrs per day wasted on the road. People seem to feel they have the right to live where ever they want and work where ever they want. People see that two to three hours in traffic not as a task of driving, but as a chance to get other things done. Instead of moving to a more convient location, they start doing other tasks then the other tasks take over instead of driving.

Those folks that move to the boonies and commute back to the city chap my hide.
They complain that traffic is too bad, and it takes too long for them to get to work, so they want to bulldoze MY neighborhood to widen the roads so THEY don't have top spend so much time on the road.
MOVE CLOSER TO WORK! or CHANGE JOBS!
Morons.

I live in the boonies and commute back to the city. 30 miles each way.
There is only one place I would like to see more lanes is thru one town I have to go thru. Its sorta a suburb of the city I work in, but its on the other side of the state line. Its about 4 miles to get thru at 40 mph, but with everyone trying to turn left or take kids to school, it slows things down even more. I would love to see that a three lane at minimal.
