My work truck is a 2015 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi, and the 8 speed auto trans.
Back seat carries about 200 pounds of gear and the aluminum bed box hauls another 100 or so.
I can get around 21 mpg on the highway if I keep my foot out of it and stay under 65mph.
But where's the fun in that...and I have a company gas card.......

Really?! 21

I want to test drive the hemi, but i also don't want to. if i can feel that power, i don't want to do without it.

i was leaning towards the 6cyl. even that is pretty hefty.

thanks for the input.

My 2012 has a 6 speed auto with the 5.7 and gets around 19 hwy.
the 8 speed and the 3 years later EFI tune makes a difference.
Both are Big Horn 4dr 4X4s with 20" wheels.

I'd take the 426 over any of the new stuff, but I'm a product of the 60's!!

What you rarely experience today is the smell.....Texaco Super Chief and no emissions smelled unbelievably awesome out of dads '72 455 c.i. Buick Estate Wagon.

My only "hemi" experiences were in a 69 429 BOSS mustang and a 392 powered Hemi Allard way back when.

I remember the Allard scared the $41T out of me, but it was blown....the BOSS was a scream. I got to make a pass in that one.

Go for the Hemi.......GO FOR IT! Old Blaine Smith would always say with a wink,"there's more important things in life than gas mileage"

Shockingly enough, they did a test of I believe a 2014 3500 4X4 dually in a towing mag, and the 6.4 Hemi did exceptionally well for such a large truck...... amazing the MPG it delivered.

Found it............ TCM Debuts 2014 Dodge Ram 3500, Crew Cab, Long Bed, Dually, 4x4 Truck

390.5, but I still can't wrap my head around that being big........... Egads, I have 489 inches to move my tiny Nova, want around 580 or so for the Chevelle......

Guess I am greedy.
