Did I miss a news item about a ugly bomb exploding at Dodge/Jeep design headquarters?

I'm starting to think someone issued a memo banning the use of curves in any new design. The design of the new Grand Cherokee is just hideous. It looks like someone took a chainsaw to the rear end. The new Dakota and Durango aren't much better.

Same "UGLY Virus" Bomb that went off at GM HQ a few years back!
I've hated GM's "new" flat, angular boxy look, and now it looks like it has "infected" DC too!
GROSS!
The design is more akin to a stealth bomber or wobblin' goblin than a motor vehicle!!!
I hate to say it, but Phoard pickups look closer to DC's 2nd gen Ram trucks than DC's 3rd gen do!

Dakota = Hideous! Ugliest truck made today or in recent history.

Grand Cherokee = Not too bad. I kind of like it but would NEVER buy another Jeep.

Mega Cab = Just as bad as the Dakota

Glad I bought my 05 when I did. I won’t be buying a new Mega Cab. Unless Dodge changes something by the time I get ready to buy another truck I might end up with a Ford.

Hey, that new Jeep is gorgeous compared to the new Honda and Mercedes SUV. Now, that is ugly.

 

Where do these funky designs originate? What trainwreck did they model all those crazy angles from???
