Got to cut about 5-6 acres of hay in a little while. But for now setting here with a big cup of coffee and doing my best to stay out of the wife’s way.

This week is going to be real busy , got to get this hay bailed and in the barn plus get ready to leave for CA on Friday .

Well, looks like I was wrong about Pocono. Weather cleared up and it got underway early, no rain all day.

My luck has been normal (for me) made 3 rounds in the hay field and broke a belt on the cuter. I did not have a spare so I spent most of the afternoon taking everything apart. I’ll get the belt put it on and cut the field after work tomorrow. Oh well that’s what happens when you’re a poor boy. Tomorrow is another day .

Starting to clean out the apartment to have a garage sale. Everything that doesn't fit in the truck and isn't essential is getting sold or donated. Gettin pretty excited about this cross-country moving trip in 1 1/2 months!

Hot and muggy in Iowa. Getting the truck ready for a trip up North for my Sister's wedding. Not looking forward to the 8 hour drive -- no wait, I am looking forward to the drive -- it is the FAMILY that I am worried about I will be back next Wednesday. I really need a vacation, but to spend my precious hunting time on a summer wedding.....

Ahhhhh, Monday in the Nation's Capital.

Humididididity is back with a vengence.
Homeland Security is supposed to be "securing" 2 major buildings Downtown.
(Might make Rush Hour interesting for those folks who can't get up early)

Should be a pretty quiet day today.

Y'all be safe, & keep yer eyes peeled.

Did you ever try to mow the lawn in a Forrest Gump "big ole fat rain" down pour? I did yesterday and it was pretty cool. I mowed until the blades were throwing pure water and no grass and said well, this ain't doin no good. Then I thought, this is pretty cool, riding around on a 450 pound gasoline powered lightning rod holding an ubbelrella to further entice the jolt in my direction.

I gotta do something or soon I will have to get the farmers up the road to come in and combine it.
Maybe I could get some natural lawnmowers, they're called goats.

Git'er done......................

MORNING ED............

Mornin boys & girls.
Need another day to recover from weekend vaca.
While on the island, met up with 6 other contractors and their wives.
Let's just say alcohol was a factor.
Was going to go to a concert on the island Sunday, but it got rained out.
So again we all ended up in one of the local drinking establishments until the ferry arrived.
Well, we missed that one.
Ok, now we'll just have to wait till the next one.
2 more hours at the watering hole and we caught the ferry home.
Now picture this, 7 couples, 7 bikes.
If you take a motorcycle on the ferry, you must stay with it in case of rough seas.
Now another problem arises, we ran out of ice.
After about 10 minutes of looking, we found someone who was willing to donate some.
And all was right with the world again.
Got off the ferry and found a place on the mainland to hang out until the rain stopped.
Found our way home finally at about 8 last night.
A much needed vacation weekend had come to an end.
Could use one more day to recover.
Gotta get to work.
