Thumbs down China buying IBM

Am I the only one who finds this very disturbing?
Lenovo-IBM Deal a Giant Step for China.

Just what a Rouge Nation needs more of our technology.

Eh, one more step towards China owning us. What would really happen if our military involvement became a full scale operation like WWII and we needed to manufacture tanks, planes, ships etc to protect the US. whos gonna make this stuff? American steel is a thing of the past, electronics are now overseas, If we were singled out so to speak were screwed cause we have farmed out everything overseas. Am I wrong with this thought? Granted we have Nukes, but if we use them were all doomed IMO.

China is NOT buying IBM.

A Chinese company (Levono) is buying the PC business that IBM has been running. It's barely making money as it is and there's no dramatic technology there anyway.

No big deal and it does give IBM an in to sell products over there.

Legends Holding Group, which is controlled by the Chinese Government, owns a majority share in the company:

Nothing is changing, the IBM PCs are made there now, my rep sent me a big information pack on it, seems like just some elaborate plan to remove the PC bussiness from IBM and make it a separate entity. Still looks like IBM is going to be calling the shots are they will keep 18.9% and none of the branding is changing , still an IBM Thinkpad.

Without going into details, let's just put it this way: I'm from Maine originally and my wife is from Washington state. And we like both of those places... a lot. How's that for an explaination?

IBM PC's have enver been very good, anyway. Maybe my first computer, which was a PS2, but after that they went downhill fast.

IBM mainframes, servers and such are still the Cadillacs of hardware. IBM made a good deal by selling its crappy PC division. They'll start again.

However, I do not condone any US trade cooperation with China. If you want to have free trade, you have to play by free trade's rules. We need to kick China's ****. Whatever happened to that "anti-Communism" thing, anyway?
