The new meaning of DC, Dodge/China

Was visiting my folks the other day and I was asked how I felt about DC operations moving many of its lines to China soon. Anyone know of this?

Well now you did it - - you got me wound up on a gorgeous Sunday morning.

How do they dominate us? If we don't let them, they won't. But, we vote for it to happen with our wallet. We are very rapidly loosing our ability to make anything. Heaven help us in another war - - we can't produce steel, copper, wires, clothes, furniture, camcorders, cell phones - - - and on and on. We sell our patents to things like camcorders to Japan, who then employs their people to make them and sell them back to us at huge profits. We are voting this in - - we are allowing it to happen. We drive Jap and Korean and European cars and trucks. The next time you sit at a stop light, count the American made cars versus the foreign cars around you. Of course, then I could get started on the American car manufacturers that don't "manufacture" half the car, rather sub out huge parts of the car to foreign companies and have, in the past, given us piles of tin that broke.

Quit Bob, it's Sunday and it's pretty out - - go enjoy - - while you can.

About China:
www.watchwalmart.com
If half of the jargon on this website is true, Walmart is going to drag us down (with their 90% Chineese inventory) faster than we think.

It's all about big business...

You look at minimum wage out here being 5.35 an hour (I think) when over in china or any foreign country there minimum wage is lot less than ours.. So of course all companies are moving where the work can be done for cheap...

Look at most of the stuff you by today from Wal-Mart... It's all china, ROC, Etc.. Everyonf flock there because the products are cheaper... I wonder why every bit of it came from china!

Like Dell Computers... (Yeah I opened a can of worms!) They are moving over 64% of the operations over seas! Dell computers are no longer american made computers and no longer get american support!!! That why they can advertise a computer for $399 or $499... Cheap labor!

I'm a computer tech... I highly dislike dell's....

I know I'll never buy a Dell now. See, we can all do our small (tiny) part swing this the other way. The fact is that these are AMERICAN companies, so the big money is STILL being kicked up to the Corporate types who can afford to pay the lobbiest>sp? and Legislators. Only one's who loose here is THE REST OF US TAX PAYERS, JOBLESS as we may all be. atleast the good and services we all buy will be dirt cheap as China and India become the world Superpowers, UhOH!!!??
We're in trouble here folks, seems like a dark road were heading down as consumers, huh?

Really wanna get fired about about Walmart? Look at how THOUSANDS of their own emplyess in Arkansas (THIER HOME STATE!) have children on State assistance, thats just crazy talk! Georiga, 10,000 on State medical programs. Lets get real here. Its to the point that in Maryland big companies (10k and over in employess) can barley compete with Walmart (price wise) based soley on the FACT that Walmart covers LESS THAN 50%, repeat, LESS THAN 50% of it's emplyees, therefore lowering overhead. It boggles my mind. MD was trying to introduce legislation that would make Big Employers contribute 8% to employee heath care, wanna here the messed up part? Guess who is THE ONLY Employer in the state who dosen't ALREADY do this? You guessed it. I see completely why this is not fair to the big companies who are already doing their part to take care of the workers.
Under the new law, Walmart would have the option to simply pay the 8%( or remainder) straight into Medicaid. Makes sense to me, but ofcourse all Walmart does is press on the Republicans around here by telling them that Walmart will simply decide NOT to go forward with a Million sq. foot distribution center that is planned to bring a few hundred jos to Maryland Lower Eastern Shore, (were these jobs are desperately needed.

Scares me to think what it will be like when my little one gets old enough to make decisions about what he buys and where.?!
