I can't help with any personal experiences or opinions on them, but you should be able to find some specs like HP, weight, etc. on this site: www.tractordata.com

Familliar with some different Case tractors. Post your questions and I'd bet someone will know an answer. What do you need to know??

Are you asking specific questions about different models of Case and david Brown tractors or the crossover models that were marked case but really D.B tractors??

I know that most of them involved lots of work and high priced parts...but go ahead and ask questions, maybe someone can help!

My Dad has what I think is a 79 or 80 model Case/David Brown. He says it is a Euro tractor, model 885. The hyd system has a lock out swith on the left side of the seat that just rotates about 90 degrees one way or the other to lock out your hydraulics so the implements cant go up or down. He locked it out with the shredder half way and now he cant get it unlocked. The shredder doesnt move up or down due to this locking mechanism. He changed all the hyd/trans fluid and filters to see if it would help and no dice. He has a manual but it doesnt give that scenario. His next step is to take it apart and put it back together once it is unlocked but I wanted to ask around before he got too in depth with it. Thanks for the help.

This same thing happened to me a few years ago (OK it was a long time ago about 1970). In order to get every thing back into working order you will need to take the weight off of the three points. There is a safety feature that will not allow the valve to open so long as pressure is present on the cylinders. Try jacking the shredder up so that no weight is on the Hyd. System ( by take the weight off ,I mean take all of the down pressure off of the three point this means 100% ) this should allow you to turn the actuator so that the pump and three point will start working again. .
The switch is intended to give more HP to the draw bar or PTO when the Hyd. Pump is not needed but is mainly a PIA. If this does not work it is possible that a pen has been sheared or slipped part of the way out at the ****.

It also keeps, shall we say people that are not the shiniest apple in the barrel from dropping a shredder on their head while working under the implement.

Thanks for the input. The three point system has been modified on my Dads tractor though. The center top point is not a rigid arm anymore it has been changed to a chain so what my Dad did was back the shredder up to an incline to try and relieve the pressure but since the middle point is not rigid all it does is move the back of the shredder up and down without relieving any pressure. I told him to put a come-a-long on one of the two bars that handle the pressure and try it that way so it will come loose. If that does not work then we figured one of the pins is sheared like you said bigfoot and will have to be disassembled and rebuilt. Thanks for the input.

Try backing up on that same slope to relieve the pressure on the third link then taking a couple of tractor jacks and jacking up the front of the shredder.
