David Blaine Drowned Alive
Did anyone see David Blaine last night?
For anyone who doesn't know. He spent a week in a glass sphere filled with water. He followed it up by trying to hold his breath for 9 minutes while beeing shackled in and freeing himself while holding his breath. He only made it 7 minutes.
I can't figure out if he is superhuman or just completely nuts.

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
No, I never saw it, but the title of this thread is fascinating. Drowned alive?????
As opposed to drowned dead? All sorts of strange visions are going thru my head as I think about this.

theory
I had a theory.. wife was asking "why would he stay in there for a WEEK before pulling that stunt?"
that got me to thinking- was the purpose of that to try and make his skin more "porous", with something in the water to saturate it with oxygen & hope that he could absorb some thru his skin, after it was softened for a week?
this is just a half-baked theory, I couldn't come up with much other reason (other than, at least he set one record for most time a human spent in water..)

they said it was a mixture of sports drinks and water, and was 2-3 times what you'd normally drink in a day... I think he was trying to dissolve like sugar in the water..

Magicians are queer, that most will agree on.
13-15 Million people watched last night, they estimated over 400,000 people had visited Lincoln center as of Monday, so there was some interest to say the least.
I like the idea of pushing the human body to the limits, I just don't need the smoke and mirrors show that he is known for.
The work up was cool though, they had footage of him doing Navy Seal type training. Ignoring (or at least dealing with) pain is awesome. I am fascinated by stories of sleep deprivation, fasting, extreme exercise and pushing what most see as the limit.
Did you see his hands?
