I don't usually come this far down on the board, but gun talk caught my eye.
Here's one of mine.

Forged lower, Colt Upper with 14.5" B Mp barrel, 1/9" 5.56 Nato marked barrel. 6 pos stock. With a real M203 40 mm launcher.
And yes, it's all legal.

WOW McNasty that is a pretty sick gun. That is something that I am looking to get. Is your stock plastic or aluminum? Is it a pre ban or a post ban with pre ban options?I never though that there would be so many votes for Colt when RR and Bushy are selling more.

Thanks

Lightbulb other ~> LMT

Lewis Machine and Tool makes good gear as well.

I've built a pair of "M4geries" thus far - Colt M4 uppers on LMT lowers + all custom components.

Here's an image of my night-ops rifle:

  • LMT/Lauer Weaponry Lower
  • Chip McCormick 2-stage trigger
  • Colt M41A 14.5" 1/7 MilSup upper w/Vortex Flash Sup
  • MagPul M93B Carbine Stock
  • Larue Tactical Quad Rail
  • LDI Laser
  • EOTech 552 Rev F Holosight
  • Troy folding rear BUIS
  • Tango Down vert grip
  • Magpul MIAD grip, trigger guard
  • PVS-14 Night Vision Monocular (1AA custom build)
  • Newcon Optik LAM10 3A IR Laser

Rock River upper with Wylde chamber mated to a Bushmaster or Rock River lower with the RR 2 stage trigger.
All other accessories are preferential.
It really depends what you want to do with it.

I have Rock River with M-4 styled stock....chrome lined barrel.....flattop with fixed buis and aimpoint red dot on qr mount.....
Colt is the standard but I truly believe that other companies that are offering TRUE MIL SPEC weapons may have surpassed them such as Wilson Combat, Rock River and a couple others.

I built mine to mimic the one I carried on active duty since 1995....simple but reliable with iron sights cowitnessed with my aimpoint.....a tac sling and a flashlight mount for building searches.

Just try to refrain from putting every bell and whistle on your weapon...but then again it is only money and it is yours...have fun. Hardest decision is whether to get SS barrel, chrome lined, HBAR, M4 Taper, 1-9, 1-7, 1-12 twists.....depends on what you want it for.

1-12 is good for the lightest bullets....45 and 50 grain. 1-9 is good compromise for anything EXCEPT the lightest bullets as they will not give good performance down range. 1-7 is for the heavy bullets...good down range performance and energy. I would recommend the 1-9 twist.....can shoot anything in over 50 and under 70grains with no issues....

then again this is my opinion only. check out ar15.com to do some reading and research... GOOD LUCK.

oh when that is done.....if you are eligible you might as well get a M-1 Garand from the Civilian Marksmanship Program too....
