Buying an OBDII Reader.

I'm thinking of buying an OBDII scanner tool.

Anyone have any advice?? Any particular model better than the next??

This one is on sale for $300.

I was interested in this tool that is computer/palm compatible and does everything a shop scanner does.
AutoTap

Bullydog also sells the Snooper Dog, same thing as Autotap basically..

Hmm, That's interesting. Another option for sure.

I was trying to find where it listed the P.C Requirements??? I have a laptop but it's not blazing fast. Didn't see them on the site however.

You know of a retailer up here by chance?

I got a genisys scan tool. I see them on E Bay used for $800 to 1000. They are a top of the line scanner for all makes.

Sorry, no I don't .. I get emails from Autotap every month from their tech mail and it sounds like he just uses a beater laptop. As long as you have a PCM Card port, it should work I think.

I wanted to get the PDA version.

Cool

That looks cool.. Hmm, its like a G-tech with a scanner. IF it has all the functions for troubleshooting like the Autotap, it seems like a better buy..

Biggest problem with all the different software out there is that because of our GVW's, most of the OBD parameters don't have to be met. Because of that, all of the software out there will give us minimal readings compared to using it on a same year gas motor.

I've looked at them all and they all come out saying the same thing.
