Happened right near my house. Bout a mile away. My wife and kids were at the airshow when it happened. My family is ok.

Terrible thing to happen.

Was it one of the Navy or Marine pilots? (sorry that would become an inappropriate joke for the seriousness of the situation). Shame to hear it.

I was at an airshow many, many years ago when one of the Thunderbirds crashed.

We didn't even know it had happened until we were leaving and saw some smoke and wondered if it had anything to do with the airshow.

That night on the news we saw the story.

Pilot couldn't eject do to proximity to houses, so he rode it in, much like the Blue Angel pilot had to do I guess.

It sucks! I thought the Blue Angels were the "stuff", for as long as I can remember. I watched them a few years ago while I was golfing at Andrews AFB. They were practicing and kept buzzing the course. The Golden Knights, Thunder Birds, and the Blue Angels are some of the most spectacular things to watch. They are the best of the best. I am sad to here we've lost one of our own. What a way to go though, huh? He must have been proud!!

Inherent danger of the occupation, but a darn shame nonetheless. May he rest in peace!

I started going to Air Shows as a kid, and never got over the thrill.
Every once in awhile someone augers in. Wouldn't be surprised if this was a result of "Bird suck".
Hate the thought of losing a good man like that.

It was a Marine from Pittsfield , MA . From what I heard it was his first show with the Blue Angels.

I grew up attending the air show's at Miramar. Loved 'em and still do. Unfortunately, it can have its tragic event's too. May he rest in peace and recieve an honored place in God's kingdom for his service to this Great Nation. Kurt
