When I worked at the lumber yard in college driving trucks, we were told to let it idle if it were going to be parked for less than 15 minutes. Over 15 minutes they wanted us to shut it down. I think that had more to do with burning fuel than anything else though.

I have to agree with ofcmarc,
They have not had to deal with the temps we have here in the cold white north...
This is the type of laws that keep me from moving back to the peoples rebulik of Kolorado.... My bro has lived there for the past 7 years and wants to get away from the stupidity that thrives in the Gov't there.

THAT'll never happen!
You know what's really going to happen to your school taxes don't you...

Public perception is being manipulated against your position despite objective, peer reviewed and debated science. You will be wasting your time and money.

This type of new law is really just a feel-good action to make the public feel like they are actually doing something to prevent "human caused climate change" rather than saving fuel or preventing vehicle theft... The downside is, enforcing government bodies stand to make easy money from your expected resistance.

Beware of politician/lawmakers that are jumping on the climate change bandwagon... They're eyeing absolutely obscene amounts of revenue coming their way from direct and/or indirect "Carbon Taxes".
Expect lots more costs associated with CO2 emissions but not any real solutions.

sorry, going to politicize this...

My gut says this has NOTHING to do with the environment- it has a LITTLE to do with trying to cut down on car theft crime, and ALOT to do with generating revenue for the city...

This is just another example of Lawmakers that have no idea what they are doing. Do we have direct evidence that emissions cause the greenhouse affect or does the earth's climate change anyway reguardless of whether we drive cars or not? Nope. They can't simply admit "we don't know why the climate changes." I mean, look at what the government has done and then gone back and said "I guess we should have done more research" eg. MDMA or extacy. It was developed by a phaarmacuticle company for psychologists to give patients that were depressed. Now it's illegal after they found what the side effects are. Hmmm...Why would I trust anything the government does? I wouldn't. It's like your manager at work. They gripe at you for not doing something correctly when they have no idea how to do it themselves. All talk no experience. Sad very sad.

I was thinking that when I read the news story, Aspen....ain't that just an extension of Kalifornia, but in the Rocky mountains?? Plus all the tree huggers that come out from Kalifornia to Aspen and Vail......never been there myself and likely never will. I might idle to long or drink to much water.....
