any Dish Network experts/engineers? Dolby Digital problem

on my DISH, a local channel has the LFE channel plugged into the Digital to
analog converter.

so if I listen on my TV thru the analog RCA jacks out of the DISH DVR box, , it has just the Low Frequency Effects, which is pretty cool, since i have a sub woofer on the TV.

the wife really hates that she can't hear the voices, though

if you turn on the AV receiver, and use the digital input, the full spectrum is there, so she has to run the AV receiver for volume, and switch the remote between AV and TV to fast forward the DVR thru the commercials

is this a problem at DISH, or at the local TV station?

i emailed DISH, and it appeared to be over their head to understand Dolby Digital and what a LFE channel is.
