Air horn

Hope this is the right place to put this?
My 5-year-old grandson was in the auto parts store the other day with his dad and seen an “air horn kit “.
There was no way he was leaving the store without getting it for his “Baba”. So to make a long story shorter him and I started to install it on Sunday. Opened the hood and no room to mount it. Finally mounted it on the cross member that is under the radiator and behind the air dam and spliced into the horn wire to activate to air pump and presto one air horn that works and one happy grandson.
No picture but if anyone would like more detail let me know and I’ll try to help.
Re:Air horn

I bought the twin air horn kir and I mounted then under the top of the front bumper. The little plastic piece is easy to put a whole in to mount them, plus since they are at the front of the truck you don't hear them much in the cab
DM01

Re:Air horn

I would like to have one. People say they cant hear my horn if I blow it while accelerating down the road. This is bad.

Re:Air horn

I think I've said this here before, but when I was working in the lumber yard in college we had one truck that always came in for deliveries. The driver had acquired for himself a set of airhorns off of a diesel locomotive. Man....you wanna talk about getting someone's attention!! Imagine driving down the highway and hearing a freight train right next to you!!!

I bought an air horn kit once that I installed...but it didn't really sound like I expected it to. It was one of those dual horn set ups with a little electric pump that I hooked up to the horn wiring. Loud as all get out...but sounded more like the roach coach truck than a big rig.

Re:Air horn

Looks like this might be it Air Horn

Just ordered a few things for the trailer the other day but I'm sure I'll need more before long. Perhaps this item might accidentally find it's way onto my order 8)

I had dual air horns on the '99 F-150 I just sold that were mounted facing forward in the two fog light spaces on my front bumper. I spray painted them silver and they looked pretty nice and were pretty darn loud too. Unfortunately though, they were the cheapo $40 Pep Boys plastic horns and they were pretty finickey. I've been wanting a real horn (particularly a stutter tone horn) for quite some time now. You guys are making me want one even worse.

There's nothing like the looks on people's faces when you blow an air horn at 'em. Now if I can just figure out if I'm going to be able to afford to equip my new truck with one...
