? ABout UPS in Canada...
Post Office is the only way to go. UPS will bend you over the table every time.
I collect toy cars and have packages arriving almost daily from the U.S. They all come via Post Office. Even though the PO has a handling fee, I rarely get charged for it as well as duties.
If the package is mailed by a person not a business, it usually flies right thru Customs. By this I mean, the return address is a person's name not a business. My F1 injectors came direct from Don M and the Post Office just handed the box to me, same as my Smarty from Bob. Both boxes had a person's name on it for a return address. My Brakesmart showed up today from DR. Performance, no duties or handling fees and it was marked DR. Performance as a return, but the clincher was the box weighed almost nothing so they didn't even look at it.
If you are in a panic and get something mailed Express Post, you will get nailed via Purolator, they are owned by Canada Post and work just like UPS.
It might take a week or two to arrive in Canada via the Post Office but I haven't lost a package yet and I do rarely pay duties. My $600 US order from Summit Racing only cost me $37 in duties via the Post Office where as a buddy had the exact same order shipped to him via UPS and he paid over $200 in brokerage fees, he sent the box back and had it reshipped via the mail, the extra shipping from Summit was still cheaper.
