Also, Just checked weather for get together.... looking very nice!

Getting excited about adding new traction bars.
Mike - What time do you figure for Friday in Sedalia. I'm wide open! How's 8 am?

Brian, did you put a boost gauge on your bottom turbo? Very curious to compare!

I found out there is a 7 psi difference between reading primary boost at turbo outlet and measuring at secondary turbo inlet!! Was shocked. Temp difference must be pretty big also?? Actually, temp drop (cooling effect) could be the reason for it?

RJ

I haven't hooked up 'your' gauge yet, will today!! (How do I have your gauge again??!?!)... I well, my friend installed the bung on the inside of the bend going into my secondary... Curious as well... What S300 are you running up top??

Think you asked for it?

BD's engineer told me it's important to weld on a block, with threaded hole, so nothing enters boost slipstream. Could just be an engineer speaking theory...or could make a difference???
Since all DTR members I know put it in the primary outlet (easier)... why not put it there for apples to apples.
You could do both?

What S300 are you running up top??
The Borg Warner S300....
Actually, No idea. Top Secret. Can't get any turbine housing data on either turbo from BD? Have not had sufficient interest to remove turbos and measure them (and not sure where to measure for proper A/R numbers).

Primary outlet?? Did you drill and tap into your housing or just on the cold pipe close to the primary outlet?

On the Primary. Just like thousands of wastegate taps are done! Easier and thicker!
But when I did it, I never even considered another place??

If you were asking above about secondary compressor wheel size, don't know, but guess we could remove inlet pipe and measure, if interested?

Ahhhhh!
I could get to my primary outlet without removing it! Can't on yours?

Tyler: Since you told me you only glance at e-mails, I'll mention it here too. Seen the newest Big Blue? This one is in Centerville, Tx and goes by Big DBlue!

I'm getting excited too! This freight train is slowly but steadily pulling out of the station!!!

I saw the caltrac bars on John's truck the other day and was pleasantly surprised to see that someone else discovered what we did at Charlie's the last time - that the U-bolt axle plate is a great place to put the heim mount.
Guess we're not as dumb as we look...

I want to get there between noon and 3, but Evan's not free 'til 4 - so I have to work around that... maybe someone else coming through McKinney at the right time can give him a lift?

Rowland, what gauge(s) are you reading the primary and secondary outlet boost with? Are they direct-reading or remote mount? Mechanical, right? - you could switch gauges/lines and see what the difference is then... non-NIST mechanical gauges are great for indicating relative differences, but sometimes misleading if you need absolute differences.

I haven't done the math, but it "feels" like 7psi is too much for that short of a distance. If it's actually so, I'm very interested, because I shelved a project last year for cooling the pre-CAC (or twins "tweener") pipes due to theoretical lack of significant benefit.

Brian, I'm gonna be too busy welding your bung to install your bars!
Engineers' theories notwithstanding, I don't think minor obstructions cause a measurable impedance to airflow quantity or quality in a pressurized dry-flow intake tract... normally aspirated is a completely different animal, and wet-flow is another huge step away.

I'm reading temperature and pressure together (since they're so closely related) at the CAC inlet, and the nitrous jet is mounted upstream ~12" so the NO2's effects can be measured. Of course, there are a few things protruding into the slipstream.

Good lord always have to read your posts twice!! Always good info though! I'll be probably heading that way around 4ish if Evan needs a ride

Thanks Brian - that would work out really well!

I'll tentatively plan on it, so Rowland I should be able to be at Charlie's before 2pm.

I met the guy rowland. He's down here for school I believe. He's an alright guy but I told him he needs to change his name quick cause I am the BigBlue. Don't even get me started on Big Blue24.

Rowland I can be at charlie's at 8am on friday but I'm begging you to not make me do that. I'll be there friday afternoon for sure and can leave whenever I need to to be up there to help install your bars. I'm very curious about them. Interesting that you got a 7psi difference. Was it a +/- difference? Don't see how you'd see that kinda difference in a 2' piece of pipe?

Brian, I got my meth from o'reilly's. They had some that was like +35*. Really crappy stuff but it had the skull and crossbones on it and said it had meth so I got it. Have to check out lowe's. First thing I need to do is get my blasted controller fixed.

Mike, how's your beast coming along? Did you ever get your new wheels put on?

Just from what I've read on here it is supposed to be close to 20%, but I have no idea... $6 for a box of 6 gal

Might have you pick me some up. I'm curious to start playing with this meth a little bit more. Especially since my EGT's are through the roof.
